"It's a very busy place, but a lot of that perception is because eat in and takeaway are served at the one counter, making a large congested area. If dining in you order at the counter and get a number, if going as a group I would try get a table first and have the other person/people reserve as you make your order. There is also still and sparkling water on tap. The ordering is easy and pretty quick, there's menus on the tables and a big one on the wall near counter. It's exactly what you expect on the menu, pastas, bologneses, pizzas, calzones and antipasto. We went as a group and the consensus was: Pizzas were good. typically italian with minimal toppings but maximum flavour. Good sized too. Lasagne - Nice, but not amazing. Didn't feel like it had set, and there was a LOT of sauce - so much so that it was referred to as lasagne soup. Roast Pork and Potatoes - this was the only real 'main' dish. It was simply two good sized cuts of pork and potatoes, not really worth the $20 price tag. But succulent and tasty all the same. We did not have the paninis but I saw some being made and they looked really good. Overall it is a mini restaurant feel in the mall, it's certainly one of the best and is far enough away from the food court to have it's own atmosphere. The staff were efficient and friendly, and it's a busy place so I don't imagine they get a lot of downtime! I'll be back."

"Set inside a heritage federation style mansion, Cala Luna in North Sydney (it’s also Middle Harbour) is an intimate Italian restaurant with also four rooms available for functions. It was pretty cold when we went last night, but there was easy parking along Miller Street, with the normal paid metre-ing finishing at 12:30pm on Saturdays. We were the first table to arrive for the night at 6pm, using a TravelZoo voucher, which was $200 value for $99 (excluding drinks)."

"Don’t go! Used to be a tie with Kobe, but was so disappointed when I went there three months ago. For buffet they no longer serve raw wagyu beef but ALL marinated shitty quality beef. I don’t know why I spent $90 for those beef.... extremely disappointed. And when I walk out, most people do not order buffet- seems like they still serve good quality wagyu beef. Just so angry with myself going with buffet. Still, will never go back again unless they serve unmarinated good wagyu beef."

"I met up with my best mate the day before the Australia Day long weekend for beers here, having traveled the best part of an hour and a half on public transport just to get there from the South-Western Suburbs. If that's not dedication to your best mate, I dunno what is?! He suggested a bar around the corner from his work, that being the Firehouse Inn. When we rocked up just after 6pm the place was busy without being packed out. We ordered a couple beers at the downstairs bar, and moved upstairs which was considerably more busy.

After catching up over a few more beers and discovering they do pints of Coopers Pale Ale for less than $10 (around $8.50 IIRC) my mate ended up shouting me dinner. Their pizza range looked pretty good, and I went with their 'Firehouse' given the name of the place was the Firehouse, I assumed that was their 'house speciality', if you will. I also thought given the place is an former fire station, the pizza might be a little 'fiery' and have a nice spicy kick as it had 'firehouse sauce'. Firehouse sauce just sounds like a kickass name for a home made chilli sauce. I might have to steal that idea given I'm growing my own chillis at home. My mate went with their Parmigiana which is no surprise. That's basically what he ordered at every pub. We also ordered a side of Garlic Bread, which is usually a staple for my mate, but he wasn't overally keen on it this time (This shocked me. I figured he must have been drunker than he was letting on!)

By the time we ordered the place had cleared out a bit, but the food came pretty much 5 minutes after my mate had ordered. I'd barely gotten a third into my fresh pint, and was incredibly surprised at the speed of the food delivery. The pizza was of a decent size and looked pretty aesthetically pleasing. Taste wise, the toppings were excellent and tasty, the pizza base however was lacking. It was chewy and not cooked through properly and tasted doughy. As disappointed as I was, I wasn't surprised given how quickly our food came out to us. It had the feel of the kitchen starting to shut things down after the main dinner rush, and had made our food quickly. Overall, the pizza was OK, but the doughy base just ruined it for me. Also the firebase sauce wasn't what I expected. It was nice, but there was no chilli. Was definitely hoping for some chilli. My mate enjoyed his parma, but it was a huge serving, and he couldn't finish it (which surprised me because I've seen him demolish many a Parma in our friendship). Whilst he said he enjoyed it, I got a distinct feeling he might not have thought it that great. The garlic bread was solid though. It wasn't typical mass produced soft and soggy Garlic Bread that you get from Pizza shops or Dominoes. It was 6 pieces of solid soughdough bread with Garlic and butter spread on. A very crunchy base, and quite delicious.

All in all, The Firehouse is a great bar in North Sydney to have some beers and drinks and chill out. Food wise they're not too bad. I'd say it's far from the worst pub grub I've ever eaten for sure, and should I return, I'll probably end up eating there again, but it's nothing that's probably going to wow and amaze. The prices are decent for the area, and the atmosphere is decent. So it's a good place, but I wouldn't return just for the food. For the pints of Coopers and a place to hang out with a mate, I'll go back for sure."

"I was here a few times here. I love the venue, but have always distanced the service a bit. A few people who are waiting in the bar to order food and drinks, but it seemed that there were a number of employees behind the bar, but they did not seem to do much too much and were definitely not in a hurry. Even with the question of one of the male barpersonal a question and watched him with other patrons, his verbal skills were not available as he communicated with gestures. Food is ok ..... pub food. Will come here with friends here, and that's there."

"Situated right by North Sydney Station, Via Della Spiga seems to inspire confidence in down-to-earth no frill honest Italian food. The daily special blackboards, strategically positioned at front of the restaurant, scream good value Italian food at daily commuters as soon as they step out of a long train journey at the start of daily mundane. Eat-all-you-can Tuesday night pizza and paste; $10 lunch special of pizza and pasta, if you like Italian food, how can you not get tempted? I finally gave in to the daily special boards and followed its direction to get a bacon and egg roll for breakfast. Firstly there is no price listed anyway, so I basically had to trust the decency of the...read more"

"Whenever I'm around North Sydney I duck into this place to get my fish n chips lunch. Sometimes I get the variety box which you can choose 6 pieces of assortments and chips (always with chicken salt I usually get seafood sticks or fish cocktails. The calamari is a bit dry but that doesn't stop me. It's great if you're in a hurry and don't have long to wait for you food, it gets served up pronto. Chips are crunchy, and cooked better than most places, either that or I just prefer more crunchy chips Pricing is good, can get a feed for less than $10."
