"Stopped in for a late lunch over the Easter long weekend and was pleasantly surprised. All staff were extremely nice and super attentive, which can be very rare in Bondi. We ordered the John Dory, special and Royale with cheese burger.<br>

Fish was well battered & cooked, sauce made the dish. <br>
Burger bun was soft, good amount of sauce/mustard & chopped pickles, beef was cooked well done as requested. Only down side was it was a bit small for the $14 price tag with chips costing extra, but then again a lot of places are charging this much just for burgers.<br>

"I visited two of the Pressed Juices locations - Bondi Beach and George Street. The staff members of both were lovely and were both willing to chat with me for a while about the healthy food scene in Sydney. The stores are small, but make great use of space with minimal seating (they're not really designed to be an eat-in place). <br>

First up I tried the espresso almond mylk (filtered water, almonds, espresso, dates, vanilla bean, sea salt) which had a nice flavour to it but an awful texture - I was hoping for smooth and velvety and received closer to a gritty texture thanks to the vanilla bean. It wasn't particularly pleasant. The strawberry mylk was much the same (strawberry, almond mylk, cashew cream vanilla bean) and was a bit of a let down. Either they don't make these drinks with a very strong blender or they just don't blend them for long enough to get 'em silky and smooth. <br>

"Yay for Funky Pies. I think it’s best if you go during the day for lunch, because at night you’ll be left with only a few options and the pies would have been sitting there for a while. Met with chill, friendly service, we had a look to see what was left for the day.<br>

On the menu they have a decent variety, all vegan, and I was quite pleased they still had one rustic Bolognese pie left as it was the one I wanted to try. The other one we tried was the chilli non carne (mushroom nuggets, kidney beans & capsicum in a mild chilli tomato salsa). Pies are $6.50 and $12 including a side. They no longer had any mash, peas & gravy left so we went for a salad.<br>

As mentioned on the menu, the crust is indeed flaky and delicious. Makes for a premium pie. But the filling is also important, and Funky Pies do not disappoint. Both were super tasty, if I had to pick only one I’d say the chilli non carne was slightly better, but only just. The capsicum and tomato salsa did it...
