"After two visits to La Wafrenetica and eating four different waffles, there are so many delicious words to describe their culinary offerings. The vegetarian waffle ("Ay Jalisco, no te rajes!") was my first foray into the menu. It has poblano pepper, corn and panela, all sandwiched between two, square waffles. Today, I enjoyed the chicken breast waffle ("Changuich a la Chichona"). It is my new favorite savory waffle! The chicken breast was tender and flavored exquisitely with curry. Spinach, avocado and sprouts perfectly complemented the savory chicken.But really, waffles for me is all about the sweet! La wafrenetica has a variety of options. I've eaten both the caramel apple waffle (La Manzanita) and the red velvet cake waffle with bananas ("Banana si, banana no"). The caramel apple waffle is as delicate as sponge cake with juicy apples and just the right amount of cinnamon. The red velvet cake waffle, though, takes the cake. Red, decadent cake-like waffle layered in bananas and smothered in caramel. A delicious way to end the meal!"

"My wife is French Canadian, so we went here as part of a birthday weekend in first, why I say it is overpriced: the decor and atmosphere are definitiw not eat fine, but the prices are; they had a disappointing wine selection (white);...and eating was good, but not excellent. at the same weekend we went to the Japanese restaurant suehiro and had an enormous experience in every sight – and the bill was less! last year in chez chou chou my wife had encrusted the rack of lamb with panko. I tried a bit of her and was so impressed that this was the main reason why we had returned this time. I wanted this court bad! unfortunately this article was no longer in the menu. that was a great disappointment. I had the wobbly soup, and, while it was very good, it was a little oversaled. the duck leg was very good, and I repeat it. my wife had beef bourguignon and was disappointed. for postres had my wife creme brulée, but found that while it had a perfectly blurred caramel chest, it was not fully boiled underneath. I had the profiteroles and was very disappointed. instead of puffy puff bakery, they were hard and chewing."

The food is amazing and finding a waitress like Jenn who spoke fluent English and graciously helped us with our Spanish was an extra bonus! The French toast is stunning and the fresh orange juice tastes...like it was picked from a tree out back! Perfect service and the best breakfast in all of Mexico! You can’t go wrong here!"

"Hold my hand and let’s step into the past.. the interior is vintage, it has charm if you miss your dear grand mother’s house.. it’s not weird in a bad way.. it’s full on memory lane. Could use a massive update, then again.. The menu...is ultra Français . Loaded with many of the old school classics I was raised on. Back to the future. The wine list is a little on the basic side, specially the French options. The service is really good and attentive, kind and quite elegant, they definitely try hard. Ok.. now the food.. let’s not forget that we are 6000 miles from Paris and 5000 feet higher.. to be fair, we are so far that I even managed to confused magret and confit de canard, so yeah.. now, the result is, well it is what it is, it’s not amazing, but you are in Guadalajara and I’d say it tastes a bit like when my grandma lost her hand a little.. overall I’m not unhappy, it was a pleasant experience, it was a long walk down memory lane. Lights out. Merci. See you next time. Food hammer: The escargots could use more garlic and real shells, the watercress salad would do much better with an egg “ molet”, the magret, consider grilling it “rosé” like it’s done in the sud-ouest.. the other dish, I’m not sure what it was, I did not order it. La tarte tatin.. more pâte feuilleté nearly burn the apples in caramel before hitting it up with a great vanille bean ice-cream.. a leaf or two of mint.. perfection.. this said, you guys managed to source the right apples, that’s the hardest part, good job!"
