"This tapas bar is set away from the main square up a tiny, winding street. It's very traditional and is in fact the oldest tapas bar in Jerez. Great friendly service and excellent tapas. Try the mini beef burger for The grilled Iberian meat...platter was delicious and very popular at our table for The scorpion fish pate was very tasty and the ham and cheese croquettes were yummy. We tried many other tapasplates Very cheap drinks also. for very hungry and thirsty adults. That included bottles of wine plus beers and sherries. We were given complimentary caramel vodkas and mini ice creams after our meal. We went back again a few nights later and ate inside. Would definitely go back here!"

"We had to show COVID vaccination status to eat here and menus are now done via QR reader, both great COVID measures that reassured us. We chose a couple of specials and a couple of dishes off the menu. To start with we had their tuna tartare which has been one of our favourite dishes, this time it seemed to have the addition of mayonnaise which detracted from the tuna. Another dish off the menu was described as tempura prawns with hot sauce, we were expecting lovely crispy tempura prawns with a sauce on the side, instead the prawns were battered and chopped up and smothered in the sauce, so of course they were no longer crispy which defeated the object of them being tempura. The sauce was another mayonnaise based sauce which had a lovely Smokey chipotle flavour, but made it a very rich dish. A specials dish was tarentelo tuna sashimi with tomato and egg, again what we were expecting was not what arrived. We were expecting the tuna to be the star of the show especially at euros, what arrived was the more rustic dish ‘pisto con huevos’ with some very thinly sliced tuna added to it. The tomato base was delicious but again where the tuna should have been the star it wasn’t and was lost in the dish, it certainly wasn’t sashimi and didn’t warrant the expensive price. Another special dish we had was zamburiñas with red mojo sauce, these were lovely little scallops perfectly cooked in a Cañarían spicy sauce. We also had a lovely white wine, Martin Codax with our meal and bread, we had to ask for some more bread and we were charged for an additional portion, better restaurants would give you additional bread for free. There was also one young male waiter that just plonked your food on the table in a really brusque manner, so overall a bit of a disappointing meal. I love fusion food but there seemed to be a lack of understanding of Japanese food here with both the tempura and the sashimi."
