"6 of us went recently to celebrate a family birthday. I had been with my husband 3 years ago and it stuck in my mind as a memorable meal so was keen to return for my birthday dinner. We started with a bottle of the house Cremant de Loire which was delicious, we had white and red at dinner with helpful recommendations from the friendly waitress - which were excellent and good value - not expensive. We had a bottle of the house dessert wine to finish and again fantastic wine. The food was all lovely. It is in a great location , we sat outside on a lovely summer evening. The service friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this restaurant"

"Great food and service on a weekday sitting outside this ancient building was had in August 2015. However, we have been back twice on weekdays, in Sept 2016 and June 2017 and both times this place has been closed so you need to check before deciding on this locale. Can be thoroughly recommended if open though !!!"

"Sunday lunch for 16. Chose the €23 menu. Very friendly welcome. The Aperitif ok. Starter huge and very tasty Mains also very filling and tasty and dessert lovely. This restaurant is underground in a large cellar so cool in the summer. They basically bake bread and serve it round meats and salads etc. French pasties thatvyou build, mains was duck, beans and potatoes, plus small baked breads. Loved it!"

"We dined here after reserving a table earlier in the day. There were roadworks taking place at the time of our visit and some young cyclists thought it fine to ride quickly up and down the road and then skidding to a halt causing lots of dust to fly when people were dining close by on the pavement area outside the restaurant. We all chose the fish, chips and peas. Our meal took a really long time to arrive and didn’t look very appetising when it was eventually brought to our table. The batter on the fish was dark brown and over cooked,the chips were also the same colour. This was all served on a bed of very tired looking lettuce. Overall a disappointing meal."

"Hotel/restaurant really well placed in front of the Loire. Nice welcome, beautifully decorated room and good bedding. Breakfast is more than good. The restaurant has nothing to say. A varied menu and delicious and well presented dishes. Anyway, I'll go back to my next move in the area."
