"During our stay in Richmond last October the Richmond Inn hotel where we were staying suggested The White Horse as one of the two places nearby we could try for a drink. We select the White Horse which turned out to be a Fuller's property;...can't go wrong there. The whole atmosphere and the staff were very pleasant and inviting. We had Fuller's ESB which was served in a bottle which was a new experience for us. It was nice and cold. Both of us had fish and chips for dinner. This has been the most delightful fish and chips we have ever had; really. The next night we tried another place recommended by the hotel but after one beer we came back to the White Horse and again had ESB and fish and chips. We like it so well that we talk about coming to Richmond just to have fish and chips at the White Horse."

"We were welcomed by a very hospitable lady who looked after us, along with her colleague, very well all evening. The food was delicious and served in courses family style salads, Parma ham, polenta with garlic mushrooms, prawns, scallops, ravioli, roast porchetta with potatoes and apple sauce, then panacotta with berries. The pork was brought out by the chef before he cut it to show everyone in the restaurant the whole joint, which was a lovely touch. House wine was £40 a bottle but they also have more expensive wine if you’re feeling flash. The food is £75 per head and if you don’t eat meat/fish they will adapt the menu for you. I don’t understand the recent negative reviews, maybe they visited on a bad day. It was a lovely experience and I would recommend it."
