"Best coffee in Oxford! For espresso coffees they have a House and a Guest coffee, with tasting notes to help you decide. I usually go for a flat white and they all taste delicious a great balance of flavour. Also they have quite a large seating area inside and out, so great for takeaway or “dine in”."

"I must admit that everyone who gave him a five star rating was right. fried ravioli is delicious and the thin crust pizza is to die. the only problem that I had was that my pizza seemed a little piece of plastic of a kind not sure what it was. I have the fact that I ordered and 15 minutes later my order arrived. I will definitely order again, but just wanted to know that with the problem, I think this place is rocking! I wish I could give him a 5-star rating."

"As a coffee shop the price, presentation and service was superb. Just off the high street for a more relaxing experience. Can be busy with students but understand once you try their coffee."

"I really liked the food here, many dishes to choose from and all of them very much full of flavour. The presentation of the food is good with the odd carrot carved into a rose. The staff were friendly and attentive but i would agree with other reviewers that they did seem to want us to run to their schedule and kept an eye on the clock. Many restaurants are like this now though when they offer two sittings per night. Make sure you book in advance, this place gets booked up quickly, especially at weekends. Its certainly worth a visit."

"Al-Shami is a decent spot for Middle Eastern food in the town of Oxford. Now our friend has raved about this place since moving to Oxford for school, going to this spot about 1-2 times per week. She actually said that their falafels were better than Zaki Kabob in Berkeley which Ryan S. couldn 't believe because to him ZK is God of Kabobs. You get a complimentary platter of whole and chopped vegetables. Interesting presentation as it came with a whole green bell pepper, a whole tomato, radishes, and cut up carrots and pickled something or other. The falafels were good but not solid. The chicken kabob was moist on the inside, dry on the outside. Stand outs for the meal were the feta cheese and spinach spanikopita-like appetizers and baklava-like dessert. It is pricey at £50 which translates to $80. Yikes..."

"This place is fine, it really isn't anything special. The coffee was okay but the hot chocolate was luke warm and definitely not that tasty, if not pretty underpowered. Interior is also fine, furniture is old and tired, pretty uncomfortable. The location is good but better places around."

"It’s a bit more than the pub it appears outside with a large dining room to the side of the lobby area. There’s plenty of normal pub seating and tables in the other section, with booths offering more privacy. A group of us went for a late lunch and fortunately didn’t take long for them to prepare a table. The choice of the food menu is alright with three roast meets available on the Sunday. Portion sizes were good on the whole but the bacon and blue burger was a little lacking on the blue cheese sauce. The chips were ok. The waitress was rather blunt and with the drinks brought a jug of water, but no glasses to serve it. Fortunately she checked whether we needed any sauces with the food and offered more gravy with the roasts since it was a little lacking. There’s big promises made with the roasts outside but no one felt it lived up to such great expectations but was ok still. The decor is nice and has a good traditional feel and it’s a great central location. The toilets were clean enough which was nice."
