"Held a burlesque cabaret fundraiser night here end of May the acts and punters alike commented on the lovely vibe. We had a blast, and dropped a lot of confetti! &we cleaned up! , and I learned what a stage kitten is, meow : I like coming here for coffee and chilling out anyway, music's always cool, decor fun, and the staff are bloody lovely, but it's perfect as an evening venue too. And cheers Vera, you're awesome!"

"Wheelchair users can enter the building, but don’t know about accessible toilets. Toilets were clean and tidy Food options for Sunday were varied and interesting, not standard fare for lunch. vegan options available. Portion sizes were very generous. Food was delicious, flavorsome, with thought going into there creation. Cost of food was very reasonable, though I feel it would justifiable to charge more because of the amount and quality: Staff was friendly, warm and welcoming. It’s a little gem just outside the center that should be frequented by brightonians and visitors alike It’s a highly recommendable places"

"I would have liked to give this nice looking pub a review, but sadly did not get that far as the hostility of the woman who greeted me with a surly you have to wear a mask before entering (top tip, I know, I was...about to put my mask on and....how about a hi, how are you? No chance with Ms Grumpy. I don't want to get into a long one here and i know pubs are finding it difficult, but COVID or no virus you need to look out for your customers. This young woman was surly and rude to the point of being offensive. I was made to feel exceptionally unwelcome. So I left while she was pouring the pint of Guinness I was actually looking forward to drinking and popped to the Greys, which is immediately opposite and is SO much friendlier. This goose has been cooked. I'm a Greys man every time in future"

"Offers a fantastic GF roast on Sundays, including a selection of GF vegetarian options and some of the best GF puddings I've ever tried. All home-cooked! Worth a trip though it is worth remembering that meals are served only on Sunday. I think they're doing charcuterie plates this week, but they never tried."

"I would probably score 3 stars had it not been for the price range, because the food was average/edible, but the price makes you assume a certain type of quality. We had super high expectations having studied their website and reviews, and it honestly felt like we went to another pub! They were really short on staff, which might be a consequence of Pride, and although friendly service was a bit disattentive and long. They had run out of chicken by 2.30PM, so we settled on beef and pork. The roast altogether looked and felt a bit tired nothing like the images on their website the pork tasted ok, but the fat ratio was really a bit off, the carrot and veg underseasoned and underwhelming, the beef was nice and so were the potatoes. But worth the price? Absolutely not. We ordered a dessert (the elderflower and berries cheesecake) and it was also a miss, not sure there was any elderflowe (syrup as its not in season) in there at all! Sadly will not be returning."

"We had a birthday lunch for 12 people. Everything was outstanding from the moment we arrived. I was told that the food was great by a friend and it exceeded expectations! Our party tried most dishes all were excellent and excellent value for money. The wine and beer selection was great. James made our visit extra special by looking after us so well excellent service. I cannot recommend The Greys more highly!"
