"Shocking, absolutely awful. We pre-booked and travelled from some distance, to arrive and be told they had sold a lot of takeaway, and no Sunday dinner available. Poor attitude by staff, really didn’t care. Don’t recommend. Terrible."

"Visited here twice for lunch while we were recently in Wales and was impressed both times. The staff are friendly and we felt welcome. The food was tasty and very substantial. On our second visit I had a jacket potato and it was just perfect.....with loads of filling too! Would happily return here when back in the area."

"We were at a conference at the Halliwell centre. We had two carvery meals and one salad/cold meat lunch. The food was fabulous! Tasty and plentiful. We were very impressed with the service and the helpful pleasant staff. Thank you!"

"Visited today for Sunday Lunch with my partner and have to describe our meals as special. The roast beef together with all the accompaniments were cooked to perfection, the way it was presented was mouth watering and the taste was immense, with a special mention to the stuffing which was outstanding, we finished our meal of with the Apple crumble and bread& butter pudding, which again was faultless. Congratulations to the chef and his staff for making this visit most memorable!!"

"We arrived on a Saturday evening. The decor was very dated and lacking in amenities: no shower, no bedside table. The little furniture there was was falling apart, panelling under the bath was coming off with dangerous nails poking out. Food was mediocre, at best the standard of microwave meals. Pub was cramped and pokey with tables pushed together and we ended up having to share with strangers.Loud at night as place apparently caters to bikers and lets them run riot. Staff didn´t bother to turn up for breakfast on Sunday morning so there were a lot of bewildered guests in the dining room trying to serve themselves with nothing but toast on offer, no milk for cereals."

"Been going here for over 30 years but this rescent visit was terrible so wont be going back in a hurry.music was too loud and after asking for it to be turned down it was soon turned back up,food was a bit cold and first time no starter offered.we were in and eaten and out in less than 30 mins"
