"Just visited the restaurant for roast dinner and it was disappointing. 2 out of the 5 of us dining thought it was ‘ok’ but the other 2 adults hated it! Grey gravy, odd roast potatoes, and a struggle to get the chef to allow a Yorkshire pudding on roast pork, even after we said we’d pay extra! Luckily the waitress understood the importance of customer service. Maybe the chef was having a bad day, because all the other reviews tell a different story to our experience. The waitresses who served us were both lovely and worked really hard."

"Chose this place as it had good Tripadvisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. This is only a small place but we went in low season when the weather wasnt particularly good. Coffee and food both good and reasonably priced."

"Amazing intimate restaurant. Fantastic seafood, cooked by a chef who is also a real character! A real find we will definitely return when next in Mevagissey but be aware book weeks or months in advance if you wish to get in!"

"Because we had heard good reviews about the Duck we met for a very rare morning to enjoy a spare moment with our daughter for breakfast. Unfortunately we will not be returning for a meal. We waited over an hour to receive our breakfast of 2 full and. one vegetarian. Despite being only three being there. The vegetarian breakfast was asked to be supplied with poached eggs but arrived with fried eggs. My daughter and husband both breakfasts arrived later than the my breakfast, our daughters breakfast was dropped on the floor by the waitress. Clearly stressed after the remark that the eggs were incorrect, fried not poached) the toast and tomatoes were picked up off the floor with an offer to replace only the toast, however our daughter had no tomatoes supplied. A short while later the waitress arrived with the toast whilst busy answering a phone call, toast dropped on the table with a so called apology whilst still in the telephone call. Our daughter and myself were busy exchanging the incorrect eggs which we informed the waitress we would do, however, I have an allergy to meat which is why I ordered the vegetarian breakfast. I could only have 1 egg as the other was very close to the meat. Eggs and mushrooms were over cooked, very shrivelled. I am unable to digest meat, mistakes from others have put me in hospital for a week, obviously it is something I would rather avoid. However, My daughter and my husband said their breakfast were very tasty, the bacon and sausage tasted good. The wait we didn’t mind because we had time to chat, a one off experience. The man behind the bar was very pleasant and couldn’t do enough to please. Very welcoming. I would return for evening of drinks but definitely not for a meal. A very pretty pub, plenty of parking, A shame to leave negative feedback."

"Went for Sunday lunch yesterday and cant recommend it highly enough, All four of us opted for a mix of both meats which was chicken and pork served up with roast potatoes and 4 freshly cooked vegetables and we all agreed it was delicious, followed by home made rice pudding. You will be challenged to find a well cooked roast dinner at a better price than this anywhere £6.75 is excellent value for money. They also sell the best pint of Guinness in town but have a couple of pints before you eat as you will be full after eating. We will definitely be back."

"I absolutely loved the atmosphere of this quant Cornish harbour pub. I got the impression lots of locals use. Unfortunately during the week visiting in September/October it was always so busy to sit inside. There is the Smithy area (extra indoor seating, but we sat outside looking out at the harbour and under cover outdoor area. Simple menu but I feel it is all about the drinking. Had a very tasty burger and good chips! My husband said his Guinness was perfectly creamy and poured well but a little pricy! I had a good house gin and tonic good value for money. Staff were very jolly and friendly. I kinda wish it were my local obvious because of the views too!"
