Gorgeous lunch at the Bassett today..booked a table to be on the safe side..on arrival very friendly greeting by the bar staff...we chose Mussels cooked in creamy cider sauce with skinny chips from the specials board...they were probably the best Mussels we've eaten ..even better than Roscoff and they took some beating. Just visited the restaurant for roast dinner and it was disappointing. 2 out of the 5 of us dining thought it was ‘ok’ but the other 2 adults hated it! Grey gravy, odd roast potatoes, and a struggle to get the chef to allow a Yorkshire pudding on roast pork, even after we said we’d pay extra!
