"We’ve eaten a few stunning meals from the Horse Jockey Over the past 8 month. The Sunday lunches are really tasty and seem good value. The burger and chips take-a-way feast was filling to say the least. The chips were dark brown and just reminded me of childhood, when food was an art. My favourite with Sunday lunch was the delightful cauliflower cheese. In short great value, children like visiting; recommend anyone to try here."

"Had a first class meal here with my family. The food was delicious and the portions were huge! The fish snd chips tasted so fresh snd my husbands steak was done perfectly. Would highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding too. The waitress was smiley and...friendly and genuinely looked like she enjoyed her job, nothing was too much trouble. If this place was in the city where I live I would be a regular!"

"We have used the Star now for several lunches recently and compared to other pub grub experiences, the Star easily outshines its competitors as the staff are excellent, helpful, polite and the grub is more gourmet quality: delicious, fresh (no frozen ready meals here) and ever so tasty and good value for money. The four of us tucked into: leg of lamb shank, meat/ale pie, scampi and hunters chicken and there wasn 't a morsel left afterwards. We all agreed the price was great too even after drinks and a coffee dessert, the final price wasn 't much more than you 'd pay for an average pub experience so why not try the Star for a stellar experience big thumbs up to the chef and front of house/waitress team."

"Called in with the dogs after reading the reviews , sat in the beer garden with my G&T deciding on what to order . Went for the gammon Sunday dinner , other half choose pork . Well we weren’t disappointed, amazing , the full mashings and all home cooked to perfection . So much so I ordered a pudding !"

"I regularly go to this restaurant for a quick no fuss , good food experience. I find it to be good value and good food. Tonight I went and had excellent service from our waitress who's name is Kayla. I found her to be highly professional, smartly presented, efficient and polite. She made us feel welcome, despite us being kept waiting at the front of house. She noticed we had been waiting and did something about it. Other staff members had not or did not notice/care, she did. I would say she and the manager stood out as credits to the company. She had an air about her of care and utter enjoyment of working at this restaurant."
