"I 've commented on this place under the Real Mary King 's Close as it is part of that attraction. The coffee shop is brilliant, a place I visit at least twice a week whilst I get some work done. The prices are incredibly good, the food varied and well presented and, crucially, really tasty. My favourite thing about this place is the staff. They are really excellent. Friendly, smiley, welcoming, polite and really good at what they do. A huge well done for them as this place can get busy, but they still seem to keep a smile on their faces. And they 're good at what they do. Trust me. There are too many surly types on the Royal Mile, not here. If you want a good coffee and some nice food, at good prices in a historic environment with thoroughly nice people around you? This is where to come."

"Tiny wee cafe on Rose street which sells fab cakes and great coffee , I had the hummus and chutney toastie which was really good sand a delicous flat white"

"We love the Kimpton and the dining, but felt the BBQ chicken portion we ordered was very small for a main. Service was slow and this wouldn’t normally matter but we had warned staff we had a train to catch, so as a result our lunch was very rushed. Of course we will be back, but wanted to let you know."

"Popped in for a drink having just arrived in Edinburgh. Greeted by a lovely, really helpful young lady who went out of her way to give us ideas on activities and attractions in the area.
