"Visited here recently where I walked into the restaurant couldn’t decide on whether to have the steak or lamb rump. The friendly supervisor recommended the lamb rump and HELL YEAH, it was delicious! The platting was nice, lamb was cooked perfectly, the proportion of veggie was just right, had a nice chargrilled smoked flavour to the dish as a whole. It was just PERFECT! I enjoyed it so much that I actually slowed down to enjoy the meal ordered the second glass of wine. Normally I see lamb cutlets or slow cooked lamb shoulder on the menu, which is either too small or too big for me. This lamb rump falls right in the middle. I look forward to have it again next time I’m there."

"We had my niece and daughters bday meal here last night with 12 people for dinner. Wait staff were very attentive and although food was a bit slow it was worth the wait. Great selection and generous sizes. Lovely surrounds and atmosphere. We were able to bring our own bday cakes without a ridiculous 'cakeage ' fee. Highly recommend this restaurant."

"The room is large and socially distant. The complex is located on a hill right next to the Southern Cross station. Finally, the quality is good and the prices are cheap. How can we go wrong? My roasted sandwich and decent coffee came out at $8. I'm not complaining."

"We went to cafe cavallino for dinner on our holiday to melbourne. Walked in because it was crowded and looked good. We placed our orders and waited. I ordered white wine and my husband red. They brought 2 red wines. When i said i asked for white the waiter said don't touch the wine if its not yours. Later my husband ordered meat ball pasta. They brought a meat ball pizza and put it on the table. When we said that's not what we ordered the same waiter asked very rudely why then did we accept the order. We didn't. Another person left it there and left. John carlos the waiter is very very rude.truthfully was friendly to everyone else. Seemed extremely racist to me and spoiled our dining experience completely. The waitress sarah was sweet and tried to over compensate.Never go there."

"We had been here in December and the food and service was ok, but we left very dissappointed today, when we decided to go for Easter Sunday lunch. It started with our waiter bringing the wrong jug of drink out, not realising this was the first of at least 5 mistakes! Our food took an hour to come, and only after 45 minutes did one of the waiters come and offer us some bread and garlic pizza. It was busy, but surely by 2.30pm most of the lunches had been ordered. Then to top it off, they brought out wrong plates to us, when we were still waiting on our meals. I agree with some other reviewer, they seem to look after their Italian customers very well. When the food finally arrived, it was below average. Don't think we will be coming back here."
