"We booked in for lunch on Sunday 23rd October 2022 at 12.30pm for 4 family birthdays. When we arrived, there was no one to meet us on arrival to show us to our table, after standing around for several minutes, I went to the bar and...asked where we were sitting. I was told outside it had been raining and our table was sitting out in the rain, soaking wet. I looked at the young girl and said so where are we sitting?? After lookig a little puzzled she went in and set up some tables and chairs. (Some chairs had been outside and were wet). Why did they not arrange this earlier, they had all morning and it had been raining all morning. My niece was wearing white pants, and so decided to wipe her chair with a serviette. The serviette was filthy after doing this. We then went and ordered drinks there was 2 people on the bar and around 12 people waiting before us to be served. Ridiculous. I asked to speak to the Manager, after several minutes had passed, he eventually came over to see me, where I complained about the shocking service, and asked him to get someone to come and take our orders. He said he would try and find someone to do this. After 15 minutes passed, he came over to take the orders, but we had already ordered by this time. Then we sat and waited at least 40 minutes for our meals to arrive. Four of us got our meals, then another two got theirs, we had all finished our meals, then the next few got theirs. Two of our party eventually got their meals and had to eat them very quickly as they had to leave. My sister was the last to receive her meal at 2.45pm. it was the parmy, and very burnt, so I demanded a refund. Another from our party ordered the steak. It was so small, with more chips than steak and they charged $44. Disgusting!! My parents ordered the Sunday Roast, this was very average and had hardly any gravy on the plate. They said it was terrible. The Manager gave us 2 bottles of bubbly at the end of the day which was too little too late. He also gave us 3 x $20 vouchers to come back again. I will never return to the Stirling Arms and will never recommend them to anyone. It was an actual disgrace from start to finish."

"2nd time I've been here.. I love this restaurant!! Can't wait to come back! It's so cozy here. The service was the best! The food , just Devine!! I had the barramundi and creamy prawns as did my husband. Oh wow! Just the best, I'm coming back for that meal..my son had the seafood fettuccine, he just raved and raved about how nice it was. Not a single complaint could be made, just awesome!"

"Very sadly, this place was burned on holy evening by arsonen (after the dame next door) on the floor very sad frightening unfortunately travel advisor was not updated so leave this review so that no one else drives over the city for the...food then publishes the pavements to then find I hope you can soon reopen"

"I came to Maddison Cottage for my cousin's High Tea birthday party. On arrival, we were greeted by one of the very friendly and polite staff members. After we had a glance through the gorgeous gifts and knick-knacks on display by the front counter, we were shown to our seats towards the back of the cottage. We were amongst the most gorgeous display of shabby chic perfection- from mismatch furniture, gorgeous cutlery and a tea cup collection to die for. Before too long, we were offered a bottomless cup of tea- I chose a T2 White Geisha variety that was to die for! The food started coming out, so beautifully presented on tier trays and it felt like it didn't stop coming! From sandwich fingers to mini quiches, cakes and chocolates, with each new taste, our tastebuds were dancing! To make it even sweeter- all produce is sourced locally and cooked/baked/prepared on site! <br>
I cannot wait to return to Maddison Cottage- a High Tea Party fit for a Queen!

"Tonight we enjoyed a candle lit dinner with delicious food, fabulous wine (Picardy Merlot 2014), and friendly professional service. The winter dinner menu was fabulous compliments to the chef (pork cheek in romesco, soft fluffy gnocchi with a very light blue cheese sauce, beans with hazelnuts, tiramisu, pudding) Sigh We'll be back!!!"
