"Ordered a Hogie wrap at and collected it exactly minutes later (as instructed) at It is now and I’m back in my car (NOW BARRED FROM THE SHOP) with my money back In the minutes between collecting my food and now, apparently I had time to drive round to the car park, somehow make my food cold, drive back to the shop, argue with the man behind the counter about how my food was cold. I should note that to figure out that it was cold right in the middle I had to eat to there If the guy had said “sorry about that” I would have accepted pretty much anything that came next He didn’t He blamed me and said I made the food cold!! HOW??? Idiot!"

"We stayed here for one night. Really lovely place. Family run and very friendly. Food was homemade and amazing. Room was a wee bit small but suited our needs. Spotlessly clean. We would definitely go back."

"VEGAN. Hotel offers a full vegan menu, including desserts. Food was fabulous. Service excellent. Mushroom and avocado stroganoff was exceptional. They have a full standard menu as well, fear not, non vegans! Friend certainly enjoyed her food too."

"Second visit to AliBob this year and thinking we should really visit more often! Just like last time, very friendly service, relaxed and laid back atmosphere but still efficient. Food absolutely delicious. We’d recommend the soup meze especially for people like me who can’t make their mind up and just want everything. I’d suggest a cake meze would be a great addition to the menu! We brought a couple of our friends with us today and they loved it too."

"On our first day in this lovely village and 8 hour drive we decided to get a takeaway. We order a 4 cheese pizza, meat feast pizza, Parma ham and mushroom pizza, kids burger and chips and sticky ribs. All pizza were over done, yes they use a proper stone pizza oven, however the quality and care was absent. The bottom of the pizzas were totally burnt And hardly any topping what so ever. My boys chips were dry, like they were cooked at lunch and just warmed up in the oven. The ribs were sticky ribs and you only get three small pieces. The whole takeaway cost 40 pounds. I would not recommend, we were really disappointed"

"Any opportunity our family have, we take trips to Scotland, driving the 8 hours from Wales, knowing we will find a warm welcome everywhere we go. The hospitality of the Scots, together with spectacular scenery and great food make it well worth the journey. In all those years we have never felt unwelcome until we went into the Kirkstyle Inn, Dunning. It is obviously frequented by locals, a local place for local people. They were very busy and there were no tables available inside for dinner so we decided to go into their covered beer garden for drinks and pizza. There were occupied tables to our left and right, both having food, but when we went to order they told us they were not serving food outside. This obviously wasn’t true because everyone around us was eating, without a reservation. This upset the table next to us, so much so, that one of the diners went inside to fight our corner and ask why they wouldn’t serve us food. At that point some large lady came into the beer garden and said the food served outside had been a mistake but we could not have food. She was rude and belligerent. No apology for clearly only feeding favourite customers. We were definitely victimised here, for no reason I can think of. We didn’t make a fuss, just drank up and left. It was so nice of other customers to express their disappointment at how we were treated. I would never recommend this place to visitors. Go at your own risk! They clearly have a captive audience in a small village with no other pubs around. It’s sad they think as a result of their monopoly they can choose to be so dismissive of the people who provide their living. My background is hospitality, hotel management and I can honestly say the customers are our valued bread and butter, never a hindrance. For info we are a couple in our 60s (one celebrating his 60th) adult daughter and fiancé. So disappointing and clearly not the norm for this wonderful part of the world."
