"Arrived by boat on the river, looked around the main square but were uninspired, then we found this little gem. It was quite busy for a Thursday night, full of locals which is always a good sign. The staff were very friendly, the menu featured...the local speciality fish dish which was excellent. There was a wide selection of French wines available to drink in or taken out all sourced from friends of the owner. We ate at 7, after our meal the owner and his wife joined us for a chat and a glass of cremant, we got away at 11. What a great night couldn't fault a thing"

"There are not many restaurants in Verdun, so you might expect high prices or poor quality. This one offers good prices and good quality. To get the best price you have to go for the 12euro menu du jour, which is not a menu, more take it or leave it. If you fancy the plat du jour you're fine. I had a piece of pork with a creamy sauce and excellent mashed potatoes. There are other more expensive menus and a la carte too. Wine is good value at 7euros for half a litre.Basic but honest restaurant. Possible to sit on terrace too if it's open."
