"I love this little restaurant for dine in. It's an underrated, small business tucked away in an office district, creating consistently exceptional food I could never make myself, over the 5.5 years my friends and I have been going here! At lunch they do a thali plate where you can choose from a set selection of veg and meat curries, which is fast, wonderful and filling. In the evenings though is when they really come alive. You can choose from an extensive menu, and having everything prepared from scratch just for you brings the taste to a new level. The Malai Kofta is my personal fave and I use it as the benchmark for every other Indian restaurant. So far no one has beaten this place! The banquets are also amazing and so much food. Great for a group. If you haven't tried dine in here, and like a cosy unpretentious place to gather, I highly recommend you give this place a go. Just please keep this yourself ;"

"We had really bad experience with them Just tonight we had food.we ordered chilli paneer quality was really bad. IT looked as if it is a curry with only 5 piece of panner whicb was work 15 dollars. We ordered palak panner, they just add panner in the palak, not cooked even well. Naan was not cooked well. Really disappointed. When we let the waiter know. He just said he will let the kitchen know. He did jot offer anything else."

"Don't let the quiet facade fool you....This is the Indian style of Food I've been waiting for- no butter chicken here, just authentic southern Indian flavours that had my taste buds dancing.I found the level of chilli mild, but tasty - others dining with us who aren't as chilli savvy, found it a little too hot. So if you like it hot, I'd ask for more chilli.We enjoyed the mutton biriyani, chicken and a beef curry, together w parathas and rice. Just wish we had more people on the table to justify ordering more - the description of the fish dishes will be a definite reason to return.The start to the evening was a little underwhelming as there wasn't very much of the Lonsdale Street ambiance being translated inside the restaurant. But after some help with choosing our dishes which we shared, the nerves were gone with the arrival of our dishes, (and some other patrons.)(On the other hand at least you can have a decent conversation without shouting.)The value of the meals was reasonable for Lonsdale St, some cheaper options on the drinks menu would have been welcome.I hope the quality of the food here remains consistent, because I'd love to come back for more."

"Great place to eat. One of the few that's offers vegetarian/vegan without a sideways glance. Nice selection of non oz beer, too. The ambiance was friendly while being precessional. Service was delightful and left feeling full. I will look forward to going again."

"This is a great choice for a contemporary Indian meal in Canberra. Situated in Lonsdale Street, Braddon in a hideaway location at the back of a building Darbar shines for it's food.We enjoyed the Chef's Special salmon entree, a truly delicious chicken biryani and the prawns and scallops. The wine list was good and the service acceptable if a little slow."
