"Having visited The Stage in Jan 19 and having a positive experience from the food perspective I was more than disappointed with the experience today. The service which was poor was, compared to the food (runny and tasteless vegetarian tart, oversalted whitebait and practically inedible new potatoes) excellent. This was an experience one can only deal with once in a lifetime."

"Very nice venue overlooking a lake set in the the country park of Nene Park. Have visited this place many times and has good facilities, clean, attractive building. Food menu is good, but a bit pricey which is normal nowadays. The veranda over looking the sailing lake is very relaxing. Recommended!"

"I've stayed at the Peterborough Marriott on several occasions so I have eaten at this restaurant many times for convenience. However my last trip to this restaurant for dinner was very disappointing. The Maitre'd was rude and the service was severely lacking. I ordered the hamburger which came out black and looked more like a hockey puck rather than a hamburger. The dessert was not edible, Ginger toffee pudding as there was more large chunks of ginger than there was pudding. The restaurant also charges a service fee which they do not tell you about in addition to the cost of the meal. I tipped the waiter even though the food was not edible. So seeing a service charge on my hotel bill in addition to the restaurant bill and the tip was a little upsetting. When I questioned the hotel desk, I was told that this is a restaurant charge and not a hotel charge. In contrast to my dinner experience, the breakfasts at this restaurant are amazing. The buffet bar has a fantastic selection of eggs, bacon, beans, potatoes, etc. and the porridge is the best I've had. Also the omelet station is quite nice. Again, the Maitre'd is not friendly, but the service is fast and the food is yummy. If I was rating this restaurant only on dinner I would have given the Source Grill 1 star review. I will not be back for dinner."

"We stayed in the Great Northern Hotel (reviewed separately). We ate here on an evening and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The service was quite slow, but I appreciate we were quite late eating and it was a weekday. The waiter was friendly and polite though. My husband got a mixed grill which he said was good and I got a chicken burger. The chips were really tasty. We then ate here for breakfast and I was disappointed that the yogurt had become warm and curdled. I also ordered eggs benedict and this was not of good quality. My husband had scrambled eggs on toast which was ok. Our toast was a little burnt that came on the toast rack. It is disappointing that the hotel is so nice and the attached restaurant does not match in quality."
