"Absolutely shocking! Food was delivered 2 hours late and stone cold. No one called to apologise for the delay or offered a discount for the food. I guess they don't care. Take your money job done. Avoid this takeaway at all costs!"

"Awful stay here! Site was not as advertised When we first arrived owner was very rude pitches weren't labelled so we parked in a pitch we thought was ours, only for owner to ask my husband if he wasn't good with numbers because we had parked in the incorrect pitch. I am not a H&S professional but these pitches were far too close together I am pretty sure that there needs to be a minimum of 6m between units with separate family occupation. There were dozens of campervans, motorhome etc crammed into the smallest area. 1 toilet per gender for the entire site and not very clean either During the night it sounded like a Conan Doyle book with hounds howling all night. Although we had booked 2 nights we only stayed for we couldn't wait to leave. Owner still charged us for 2 nights Absolutely awful stay"

"Lovely country pub been visiting here for quite some time . Food is generally good but sliding down hill lately, chips taste stale like they have been precooked and finished off when ordered. Chicken curry sauce thick chicken tough. Sunday roast beef over cooked tough roast potatoes pre cooked and warmed up strange dry taste . This is a real shame as I used to love eating here"

"Had table for four booked ....arrived on time to a closed door! Honestly we have been here often with previous owners and it was excellent every visit, with a special European grazing menu. I suspect most of the reviews posted were of the service provided by the ex owners. No excuses tendered, no messages received for reasons why doors were closed. Not the way to run a successful restaurant. If you book be very wary! This is not a fake review."

"Such a disappointing visit. Ushered into the Cow Shed. Zero atmosphere, stressed staff. Asked for water, didn’t arrive. Had to ask for cutlery, food cold by the time we had the cutlery. Food was ok, hot or even warm would have been nice. Asked for the bill, didn’t arrive, went to pay and left. Not asked once if everything was ok, in which case I would have mentioned it. First and last visit. I suspect from overhearing other guests that they won’t be returning. £50 odd hard earned money would have been better spent elsewhere. We wanted to support new owners. I hope things improve in the future for them as they have the foundation of what could be a great country pub. Beef was good (but cold) having been dragged from the pub to the Cow Shed. Over cooked broccoli, under cooked cauliflower cheese. The half a carrot and slither of parsnip taste was good but again cold. Ice cream scoop of mash….cold. I’m looking for some positives but I’m struggling to find them with either food or service."
