"Really pleased we chose this place, as recommended by our Air b&b host. We booked a roast on a Sunday at 1600 as we were told it gets really busy and was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t, food was outstanding and staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend but book if you are eating more towards lunchtime."

"I'm just done. really interesting, unusual sorts offered. for example, I had just heavenly curry pasta, which was complex and tasty. two of us had beautiful pizzas, one of the scavengers he enjoyed quite and one of the very peri pork belly. a new restaurant that is currently a hidden gem of york."

"The meal we had last night revolved around starters big mistake the mixed starter was a bone with virtualy no meat, a small piece of dried up prawn toast a kind of dry crab claw took the lid off it was like scraps from a waste bin, the last time i used Happy Wok a couple of years was amazing then for some reason it closed for a while should have stayed closed we orded 1 main thinking with the starters we were getting would be suffice nope it did not come so a little over £20 thrown in the bin"

"The Santhai at Escrick is definately on the up again. A new chef has added a wow factor to the already tasty menu. I have over the years worked my way through the whole menu. My favourites starter is Si Oua (spicy sausage) it is hot and delicated flavoured all at the same time. Kradoog Moo Tod (spare ribs) are the most melt in the mouth ever. Slow cooked to perfection.I think having tried most of the main courses now, but still come back to the Gaeng Keowan Gai(green chicken curry) although not for the squeamish Poo Pat Pong Galee(crab with celery) sounds boring, but has such depth of flavour and texture and is also such great fun to eat.They now have a wider range of desserts but I generally struggle to leave room. Woon Gati(coconut jelly custard) are an intersting palate cleanser.The wine list is well sourced and as I not of the old fashioned opinion that thai food should be accompanied by beer I have been more than happy to order Pinot Noir to go with hot red curries and Sparkling to go with anything hot!.I just love this place and will keep returning again and again bringing my friends."
