"We were staying at YHA Sydney Central. We found this cute Japanese Restaurant when we were searching for food. It's very near, less than 10 mins' walk away from YHA Sydney Central (you exit the entrance, turn right, keep walking along the shops without crossing the street. When you see 'Subway', then it's time to cross the street. You can see the restaurant as you reach the row of shops.) Located just round the corner It's also less than 5 mins from Paddy's Market. We ordered Beef Udon. Ramen and Terikyaki Chicken. All were delicious.Staff was friendly and service was good. We didn't have to wait long for our food to be served.The atmosphere was simple. Space a bit squeezed, but overall at good visit.Price was reasonable too. I'd recommend those who love Japanese food to come here."

"Located in the underground Asian specialty food court, Asakaze offers Chinese- and Korean-style Japanese dishes in addition to more traditional Japanese fast-food dishes at an affordable, competitive price. The food is run of the mill, which is as much a compliment as it is criticism; well, it could be worse. The portions and the value are both reasonable.<br>

The aspects of Asakaze that detract from a decent experience are the service, with the servers seeming less than interested and aggravated, and the ambience.<br>

On balance, we are not likely to revisit Asakaze, Chinatown, unfortunately, in part due to it being part of a food court and, in part, due to the poor service."
