"Sushi fans will rejoice in Tokyo Express' selection of rolls and sides and even though they've lost the old train, it has really improved on its décor from a few years ago. The food is always tasty and fresh and well priced for the serving size. As any Japanese cuisine regular will know, soy sauce, wasabi and ginger are vital to any sushi dish and luckily Tokyo Express keeps all three in close proximity to each seat. Even though some items like the dim sims and calamari rings seem a bit out of place, they apparently appeal to more simple palates that may be flagging extras in your group. Staff are sometimes a bit overworked, but always friendly and polite. Overall, Tokyo Express is one of my favourite casual sushi joints with a cheaper price range."

"Booked online for 7pm table for 6 and 10 mins after arrival and after ordering a banquet at $45 pp x 6 we got told that they needed us to vacate our table by 830pm. I argued that we were never made aware of 2 sittings when booking but they didn't care and proceeded to pile up plate after plate on the table and rush us and keep reminding us we needed to leave by 830pm. We all had indigestion and felt very annoyed by the experience . The hipster dude waiters were way to cool for us ! Disappointing for my daughters 17th birthday dinner !"

"On my way home after an afternoon fishing session I visit a quick dinner with a 30 eat club discount voucher. honored by the kind waitress I immediately showed to my table, and I ask her to delete a great lemon bitter, my thirst. my sirloin steak and hot chips 33 are served in less than 30 minutes. the steak is perfectly grilled and the French fries are sharply pierced. I enjoy this simple eating and it meets the place. well done young!"

"I've wanted to try Gauge for some time since it has been hyped by foodies. In my opinion, the recommendation by foodies is justified. The menu is inventive without being overtly over the top 'Heston Blumenthal' ridiculous. We had the two course lunch menu ($44 plus supplements depending on your choice). I had the Cobia fish as a main course, which was served with a delicious pistachio cream. The signature dessert is the black garlic bread - which is actually sweetish, does not taste of garlic and comes with a gorgeous burnt vanilla butter to spread over it. This is a really inventive and truly delicious dessert. This is why I love trying new places that push the boundaries a little bit. Not for the traditional, non-adventurous diner. Our server was very helpful and friendly and my Heathcote white wine was excellent."
