"The best Indians in whitley bay. Consistently excellent food. Don’t be fooled by the fancy bright lights of other Indian restaurants in whitley bay, the quality of food at whitely bay tandoori is unrivalled. The restaurant is quiet, relaxed and the staff are superb. I highly recommend the kebab for two (a big tandoori mixed kebab) served on a sizzling platter. The chicken chaat starter is also outstanding."

"Rude, incomplete order, offensive customer service when asking for refund for missing meal. I was told refund would be in my account in a few hours, we are talking £5.10. Frustrated but what can you do.... No refund has been processed. However, when I called tonight to ask why I am still without my meal or a refund they told me they had delivered the missing meal to my address. THEY HAD NOT. We asked them to identify the cars at our property or the equipment they passed to get to my front door, all easy to identify. They could not identify my cars or the stuff in my garden. Called out on their blatant lies. Dear God why would anyone looking lie over £5.10? It is the most immature/pathetic service and communication I have had in a long time with an adult. The meal we did get was mediocre at best, that with customer service means we won't use them again and once we've shared our review most of North Shields will also avoid. Management need to review situation asap or the custom they will loose will be far more than £5.10"

"Me and my dad ordered a takeaway after visiting my mam in hospital. For convenience I ordered on just eat and chose a time to collect. I got a text to say my meal was ready for collection at the exact time I wanted to collect our meal, however it was not ready when I arrived meaning I had to wait a long time in the shop before I was given my meal. We have been to the spice bay many times and enjoyed many meals however this time the meals were very disappointing! There was hardly any sauce in both curries, the chicken was very dry and tasteless meaning we could not enjoy our meal. We are very dissatisfied as spice bay is more expensive than their competitors, but their meals were nicer. We will not be getting a takeaway from here again."

"Excellent quality takeaway as always. Starter of onion baji, large and crispy with delicious mint yogurt which we shared, for mains we had chicken tikka jalferezi which was very very tasty, gorgeous chunks of white chicken breast which melted in the mouth, peppers and onions in a perfectly spicy sauce Chicken tikka dhansak, sweet and sour with lentils and absolutely mouthwatering. We shared a vegetable pilau rice and a plain naan with popadoms. Could not fault this generously portioned takeaway and we will continue to support this restaurant. The staff are always super friendly."

"We are regulars and love the food, but when we ordered for new Year's Eve, we were told it would be 2 hours. Fine. Three hours later, I phoned to enquire about our order and I was told that the order hadn't even been processed!! No explanation, no apology. In fact, we got attitude from the woman on the phone! When I explained that we were valued customers, I was told that all customers are valued. Well, obviously not, if that's how they treat their customers. We love the food, but that is not the way to treat regulars. Happy New Year."
