"Closest thing you'll get to a quick visit to Ho Chi Minh...redolent of herbs and spices, this place is abuzz with a you-know-it's-doing-me-good scent that follows you to your table. Fast-paced and sooooo busy, smiles a mile wide, extensive, mouth watering menu and that's before the meal arrives.When the food comes, it's a visual and taste bud treat....sooooo good, sooooo well-priced.We over- ordered, made greedy by our salivating mouths.God this is good food...We'll be back..."

"I went for dinner with a colleague as we were staying at a hotel across the street.When we enter you can feel a nice atmosphere, it was a Thursday night and there was a good amount of people.We ordered at the bar, drinks and food. For the food they give you a buzzer so you can pick up the food from the kitchen pass.I ordered a burrata and prosciutto salad with rocket leaves and balsamic reduction. I was really disappointed!!! It was served in a big bowl full of rocket leaves and the smallest piece of burrata you can image... you could see that they use one ball of burrata for 2 or 3 salads, so it's cut in a small piece, so it does not have the creamy center you expect from the cheese. It had 2 or 3 slices of prosciutto. The taste was ok, but for $20 I was expecting a way bigger piece of burrata.As well I ordered garlic and herbs flat bread. The size is of a big pizza. Didn't like it match, very dry.My colleague ordered the grilled chicken burger and it looked really good and big and he said it was nice, it was served with fries.Overall experience was ok, we had a good time, but very disappointed with my food!!Next time I'm in town I will check out another place, not sure if I would go back."

"I've been to the Elk and Pea three times. It used to be great but it has gone downhill and is on the way out.<br>

The place has a nice buzzy ambiance and great decor. The menu is original and interesting. But the execution and the staff attitude is poor. This is what has changed - it used to be well run with friendly and engaged staff who had their mind on the job and knew what they were doing. Not any more. Food was late, service was chaotic and indifferent, orders were stuffed up and the place was freezing.<br>

We ordered three main courses for four people - one a sharing size main. After two of the people in our party had almost finished their mains, we were visited by a waitress asking how everything's going. I explained it wasn't going well as we were still waiting for our mains, and that much should have been obvious to her just by looking at the table. About 10 minutes later our order came out, but the wrong dish. We were offered a round of drinks and "a few" free deserts to compensate - but we didn't want those things. This is a typical slick restaurant tactic - rather than do the proper thing and not charge when they've stuffed up, they offer something which has a large margin for free, thinking you'll be thrilled. We weren't. Despite the fact that we were served the wrong meal, 20 minutes at least after the other dishes at the table, we were finally offered to pay half price for the dish. So $30 for the wrong meal, which wasn't good and was delivered so late when we were so hungry we had the choice of waiting another half an hour or eating it. We were also bloody freezing. We, and everyone at the tables around us were wearing all their overcoats and scarves. We pointed this out to management and they didn't make any comment but wouldn't turn up the heat - probably wanting to save money. Was asked for knee blanket but apparently they don't have any. The corn chips and dips were nice but the Empanadas were overcooked and excessively oily.<br>

So if you don't mind being charged for something you didn't order and only ate out of hunger while you're being kept in a freezer - then this is your place."

"I dropped on for the second time in a week and enjoyed both visits. It’s the freshest food of the several Vn places I’ve tried in the inner north. Flavours authentic and portions good and price is average. The ambiance is a little flat but...I came to eat good food so they scored well on that front."

"Finally got to go to Soul Cartel in The Hamlet in Braddon. I was eyeing the lobster po-boy but there seemed to be a wait for that. I tried the smoked chicken wings (passable) and the fried chicken sandwich. The sandwich had lettuce, mayo and fried chicken breast in a long bun. Filling and good value for money."
