"It was about 1.15pm and we (my wife, adult son and myself), were totally unsure of what to do for lunch. I searched for options on my mobile and the most suitable option, offering OK opening times, a great menu and a very close location so this was it. If I recollect correctly, I think the fish bar closed at 2pm as it was a Wednesday, and so we didn't have long for closure! I was welcomed by a lovely gentleman who turned out to be the owner and from Greece (many years ago). he made me very relaxed and was great in making banter. I went for fish chips lge peas and lge gravey for each of us. He apologised that he would have to cook the fish fresh which would take a few minutes which was fine. He showed me the beautiful fresh cuts/fillets of cod, which were white and very large. Whislt cooking the fish he was preparing some barbequed chicken, which looked and smelt great. he explained what he was doing with them and how tasty they were and offered me a selection with a few chips in a serviette whilst I was waiting. THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY YUMMY! It wasn't long and the fish was done, so got he rest of the order ready then nice and hot. Very good portions and lovely with it. while waiting he chatted about where he worked/lived previously and how happy he was in Hucknall, where he had now been for many years. it was great to listen to the owner and chat with him and he was very polite, corteous and generous. On wrapping all our order he gave us each a mini fish (about 5 long I would say on top of what we had ordered, and for free). he was is a lovely man and the whole experience and the food was absolutely lovely and great!!!"

"Had my reception in the function room, walked in and the decorations were layed out perfectly. We had it booked for 6 and we went in at that time. However the DJ that we had booked through the pub turned up 5 mins before and took him an hour to start playing our playlist. All in all the organisation, attitude and vocabulary could be much, much better on his end. Bar staff were helpful and friendly, food was basic but that was to be expected."

"Delicious food at a great price. The staff are waiting to help in any way they can, very fast service but this can be a little off putting as they do stand waiting for you to finish a course. I don't think they are trying...to rush you, just trying to provide good service but it can come off in the wrong way."

"Friday night chip night, myself my dad son , grandson and daughter in law decided to have chips for our tea, my son and daughter-in-law had fish and chips which they said was good , Oliver (Grandson had sausage chips and beans. Myself and my dad had pie and peas which were frankly dreadful , Stone cold and the peas tasteless, the only benefactor was Ted , our dog, what a total disappointment and waste of money. Certainly will not be spending my money there again. I was charged £40.00 would rather have paid a little more and had the food warm and tasty. What a disaster!!!!"

"Tuesday half price steak night is a must go! one of the best filet steaks I tasted cooked to perfection! highly recommended and will definitely go to the next. 5 the second opportunity I and my partner visited, I had another filet steak with garnel and tomaten and basilikumsuppe for the starter. my partner has goat cheese for the starter and a mixed kebab..we both had sticky rot for the desert. no complaint from us again! still 5"
