"I loved the whole idea of having my pavé de boeuf grilled in the chimney in front of me plus I could exchange with the chef directly while he was doing it, which I did appreciate. My wife had the meat fondue, my son the traditional cheese one with white wine in it, two sublime choices too! Also loved the fact that most of the products are of season and supplied locally. The sauce with the fresh chanterelles in it, damn! Service was impeccable too. No need to hail none of the staff members at any time. They did pay attention to us. We 'll be back on our way to Zurich next time!"

"We had a chicken burger and a chicken wrap. The meat was the cheapest frozen product and consisted more of breading than “meat”. On the burger there is only a leaf of lettuce and some coleslaw with sauce without any additional ingredients that require an additional charge. The sauce on the wrap also tasted totally over-seasoned and artificial. The fries were good so far, but also quite steep for 8CHF. The homemade sauce was ok, but only consisted of mayo and sweet mustard on top. All in all, the price/performance ratio was simply not right here. In addition, we both had stomach problems after eating."

"After a long day on the trail we were looking forward to having a good meal and the Hotel Europe did not disappoint. I had the roast chicken which came with a very nice sauce, and well prepared and flavorful vegetables. Really enjoyed it. My daughter had pizza and felt it was one of the better ones she had tasted in our trip so far. By Swiss standards (meaning really expensive from a foreigner point of view) we felt the prices were very good considering the quality of the meal. The staff was friendly and reasonably attentive. The restaurant and bar area is tastefully decorated and attractive definitely a place that you would like to hang out in for awhile."

"Went for an after ski lunch not far away from the grand paradis ski lift. There is a cosy atmosphere and the service was good. The raclette au feu de bois was great. Highly recommended."

"I have been to Alta many times over the last 5 years and was always happy with food and service. In fact last year the waitress was so nice I still remember her. However this year the service is a complete shambles with the 2 new waitresses. First, they don’t wear a mask and I will report this to the autorithies. Second, they are rude, speak in a rushed manner with customers but spend a lovely time chit chatting between behind the bar. Third, they are slooooowwwww to take orders and slower to deliver. So bye bye Alta. Arriverderci strozi."
