"After consulting TripAdvisor and Yelp we trusted our gut and selected the Wintergarten located just on the southern end of the central riverfront cluster of establishments. As a result, we had one of the best meals of our week in Northern Europe. My daughter and...I were seated at an open window overlooking the Mosel, and after studying the menu (English version available), we both selected prixe fixe 3-course options. First courses were the warm goat cheese salad (Ziegenkase mit Honig und Thymian uberbacken auf Blattsalaten)—excellent—and a smoked fish with hot Spargel (white asparagus – very good). Main courses were the pork medallions in Riesling sauce (Cochemer Schweine-Medallions), which were expertly prepared. For desert, we shared Apfel Strudel and a chocolate lava-type cake with fresh raspberries. Our server was attentive but unobtrusive, somewhat formal, and very good. The price wasn't cheap: 84 euro with beer only, but we both felt the meal was worth the price. Highly recommended."

"Eating was not bad, but we were badly surprised when we asked for official returns and the waiter said they couldn't give us. so she writes the carry on paper and puts the money in the wallet. after that we have noticed that some restaurants may not be taxing on this wise. Never go to this restaurant."

"An interesting restaurant we visited during our last visit to Cochem. The woman of the house, the waitress, is unbeatable. Very nice and very accommodating. The dishes of our choice were also very delicious. Absolutely recommended, even if it takes a bit (but it is absolutely necessary for the fresh preparation)."

"We had booked reservations for August 30th via email for 6:30pm. we walked around the city and went back to our hotel for a rest. we were all very tired and didn't feel like walking back in to town but didn't want to cancel on short notice. When we arrived, the doors were locked. We waiting until 7pm but it was closed. would have been nice to receive an email to notify us."

"Appetizers were excellent. Reh was unfortunately tough and fried differently. From delicate pink to almost bloody. The supplements again very fine. It was offered to roast the meat, but it remains tough. Very big wine card. Menu is an iPad! You try to connect modern with upscale kitchen. The neighboring table had pommes in bags. The noise level was exceptionally loud. Like in a train station hall. I expected more here."

"Our waitress seemed bothered that we wanted to find a place to sit, then she pushed us to buy more when we had said no multiple times. I finally agreed to get a glass of ice water to go with the apple strudel, and i'm sad I did. One glass of water was 5 euros!!! They must have left out the spices and sugar in the apple strudel because it was truly awful. One tablespoon of ice cream to go with it was another 3 euros! This place was a huge rip off, the staff were rude, and the decor was outdated. I would never go back."
