"We were never in the hotel, but jumped into the bar a few times. it is quiet with large sofas, very friendly. but it lacks decent design beer, but eating always looks good. Nice for a quiet drink and a chat."

"Heard that this was one of the better places in Edinburgh to visit if you wanted a good cocktail. So this is were we headed. On approach it looks very posh (well it is in George Street) and inside the decor is rather grand if a little open and cold. No doubt this works well on weekends with large groups. We ordered some bar nibbles roast nut mix and the marinated olives. Good sized bowls and rather tasty with the cocktails. I was pleasantly surprised with the cocktails, they are a decent size with a good whack of alcohol. For approx £8 a cocktail you would hope so, but I've paid more for a lot less. We started of with two Brambles and then slowly worked our way through the menu. The Bramble cocktail is gin, lemon juice and Creme du Mure served over crushed ice with a slice of lemon and a hint of blackberries. It was lovely! We managed to get a nice seat in the corner by the window and spent the night listening to the DJ, sipping cocktails and talking nonsense. A fabulous way to spend a Friday evening."

"It was our very first time dinning here and we'll definitely come back! The restaurant is very small and that make it very special, also de decoration is beautiful. The service is amazing, our waitress was fantastic, very charismatic and charming! The food is delicious, we tried the sharing plate for two which is only for £39. The meet, ribs and chicken cooked perfectly, the salad is very tasty and rice delicious! You can bring your own alcohol (they charge a little bit, depending if it's beers or a bottle of wine). I recommend it 100% if you like meat and also if you don't, because they have vegetarian options. Don't forget to bring some cash for tip out, because is not possible to leave it by card and the service definitely deserve it!"

"When we arrived there was no one in the restaurant. We were aware it may have just opened, however, after waiting 5-10 minutes started to get confused. Attempted to call for service and when someone finally appeared- they asked, “can I help?” rather than an apology for the wait/lack of front of house staff. Service is rather patchy. Friendly, but definitely needs refining. We were then surprised to get half way through our food to discover there is three members of staff, so this initial wait was even more confusing. The £5 lunch is good and you get what you pay for. Haggis is lovely and nice fresh fish. Should consider revising lunch menu to offer “upgrades” and try up-sell extra sides/small plates/course sizes as I would consider this. I’m sure this would be possible but would nice to see it on paper. Nice decor and good style overall. I would visit again."
