La Petite Mort - Edinburgh

Pre theater meal with friends, not the first time that we never disappointed the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. the room is comfortable, relaxing, just right for a pleasant meal there were three of us and three options on the menu for each cure, so we had every article to try each selection. the crème-brudel was ashamed.

I slowly begin to explore the south side of edinburgh (tollcross, bruntsfield, morningside) with current visits like meltmongers, harajuku kitchen and now la petite mort. la petite mort is a hidden gem in full view on the valleyfield street. it is the perfect place for the pre-theater eating in the kings or only for the cursed from the hectic and the city. it is an elegant and charming oasis with a beautiful casual interieur and a really beautiful painting on the stone wall! I also love that they have transformed old singer sewing machine, standing in tables. the design work on the table legs is stunning.

I had la petite mort on the radar for a review visit as we scran salon held there at the beginning juni. I took an opportunity on a busy Friday night to put them through their steps. I was joined by regular guest queen frances, who last joined with credo. after a pint in bennets, through which you can reach the restaurant (or come directly over the valleyfield street), we took our places on a table right next to the traditional wooden bar. the place was dizzy, but had a relaxed and welcoming mood.

Formally the Skean Dhu, provocatively-named La Petite Mort is making noises on Edinburgh’s food scene with its creative and modest menu. Its name refers to French slang for being over-full, but is most commonly defined as “orgasm.” Would the food be as pleasurable La Petite Mort is joined to traditional Tollcross pub, Bennets, but tucked away around the corner on Valleyfield Street.
