"Friendly local pub serves excellent home cooked and delicious main courses with 3 genuine ales. we enjoyed attentive service and fast delivery. good portion size and, in any case, filled as lunch break before we exited it in the nearby national trust biddulph grange gardens afterwards. a pub where we will return to a future visit."

"I've been one of those who were a firm customer of another congleton chinese. my sister recommended this place the other day. the standards had fallen at the other place. new ruby is fantastic. the lady I have spoken to in the last 5 days on my 2 commands is very friendly. fast delivery both paints. a further order will begin before the end of the week! we will try."

"They have Chocolate mint cake, can 't believe it! I 've never seen anywhere serve this before! It wasn 't too sweet, the sweetness came from the mint frosting and mint cream in the middle, there was a thin mint on top which was fabulous. However, the cake itself was dry and didn 't taste of chocolate much, couldn 't finish it but it was an awesome option to have 3/5 The Satay wrap was SO so salty.....I could not finish it also, I wished that there was more fresh cucumber, coriander and salsa in there to balance out with the saltiness of the miso satay seitan. It came with sweet and chilli sauce which I kept dipping the wrap in as it was mainly just sweet to counteract the salt 0.5/5 The Oreo milkshake, omg, it was delicious, the best thing out of my orders, I don 't have to go to Manchester for delicious milkshakes anymore! The froth/ fluffy whipped cream on top was so so good 5/5 Full breakfast was good, mushrooms were juicy but the amount of spinach on there was abysmal, toast was not buttered! Rosti was....so so as it felt/ tasted like it was made the day before and was quite bland, not enough tomatoes, sausage was ok, beans were good and the bakon, avocado and scrambled tofu was good. Overall it didn 't look like much but it was filling in the end 4/5 Toast Session IPA was amazing 5/5 They did a good cup of English tea too. Staffs were lovely and they serve water with fruits in it lovely. Came back again, the chicken burger was quite oily but still yummy, the salt and pepper chips were okay, not the prettiest looking chips, it was not crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just floppy and dark (not burnt? chips lol. The breakfast burrito was good and the avocado toast was ok. Second time round, the staff service was questionable.....we kept signalling for service but the staffs just....looked at us and doesn 't come over several times, and when I asked another staff for 3 spoons....we got 3 forks? Asked for water and didn 't get any....we got served by 3 different people each were either not really listening, forgot something or ignored us. Updated from previous review on 2021 12 05"

"We love to go to this pub when the weather is nice. it has a beautiful but small outdoor seating area with magnificent view over congleton, the viaduct, the jodrell bank and on a good day you can see wales. they have a good selection of larger including veltins and they serve food. the prices are not the cheapest, but I feel that it is worth paying the little more for the friendly service and great outsight. if they have accessible needs, the area can be difficult. to reach the entrance, there is an inclined height and with it a very old building it can get close when they are a wheel chair user, the gray area is very demanding when they use a wheel chair because it is directed obliquely to the side and down and I do not remember seeing a ramp to reach the grass area. if they are visually impaired, then they have the usual problems, but easy to overcome when friends and family. I just send the gf in to get drinks."
