"Probably the best place to dine in Libourne. Beautiful home cooked food in big portions with just fantastic flavours. We were greeted by Remi and his wife which would be serving us and told that his father was in the kitchen. Remi told us that his father is not a chef but they want to show good home cooked food, and they delivered far far above expectations. Their wine list also reflects the area with many beauties from Fronsac as well as the more well known from St. emilion and nice local beers. we went for starter to share and a main course and dessert each and it left us almost rolling out of the restaurant. the portions are extremely generous and the service matches the generosity. we went for the cured salmon with fennel salad as a starter. Braised beef cheeks for main course a Tarte Tatin and chocolate fondant for dessert. I will dine here again next time I visit."

"Excellent reception. We were served quickly and with a smile. There was the choice between traditional cuisine and Alsatian specialities, which we chose. The sauerkraut was delicious and the generous quantities. We'll be back there without hesitation."

"When we arrived in libourne we went for our first lunch at the Brasserie L' Orient. We sat inside due to a very hot day although there we plenty of shade outside they were all taken. Our server was Hugo who I can honestly say was the most hard-working member of staff should be a credit to the place. We had the €20 menu of the day which included asparagus in cream fish and chips finished off with pineapple and pineapple sorbet. It was all very delicious especially the asparagus. Would highly recommend."

"Open on Sunday evening with man and woman team. goat cheese with honey starter and salate de comoagnw bite almost a meal, followed by bavette and sirloin steaks. limited but good selection of local wein to various trips. a really nice, friendly place, highly recommended. libourne. is a good stop on the way to Spain. we'll see each other again. stay at the boutique mini hotel le patio equally beautiful."

"Arrived at the restaurant at 1:30pm, ordered the Express Menu du Jour and a carafe of wine. Waiter came back and informed us that they had run out of the starter but they could replace it with a plate of charcuterie, we said that would...be fine. He then came back and said they'd also run out of the main course and the dessert, but we could have a fish course and an apple pudding instead. We decided to go with this and changed the wine (which hadn't yet arrived) to white. 15 minutes later, we still hadn't been served any water or wine and were getting impatient. The wine finally arrived with the meal but we were 95% sure it had been watered down, as we saw the waiter leave the bar with a 3/4 full carafe, just before he served it. The meal was poor, with a wilted salad with some salami on it for a starter; a seemingly frozen fishcake and dry tagliatelle for the main course and a stodgy, undercooked, cold, tasteless apple pudding with canister whipped cream squirted on top for dessert. Overall we waited around 45 minutes to be served food and drink and it was certainly not worth the wait. Horrible place, would not recommend."
