"I've been here for years. The owners are always polite and friendly. I usually get the squid and pommes or poutins. Portions are big and the food is good, I think they can improve on the pommes, although in my opinion."

"We were seated on the upper deck of this place at the foot of Liverpool Rd. overlooking the marina and Lake Ontario. They have a good selection of wines by the glass and craft beers. The lunch menu included burgers, sandwiches, several salads ( the beet one topped with chicken was delicious), fish and chips with house made coleslaw, a pasta dish and a salmon dish. Service was prompt and friendly. This is a great spot if you want to dine outside on a sunny summer day!"

"We first ended up ordering from Malt N Salt as another local fish and chip place that I wanted to try due to great reviews was closed. But we were so happy we got to try this place. The food was so tasty and not greasy. We have ordered here a few times now and we usually get the halibut, chips and shrimp. The food has been great each time that we don’t even care to try the other place."

"Based on assessments decided to try (withdraw) their fish and chips chips were understated and halibut overboiled. also the only condiments were 16 pieces of malt vinegar, no tartaric acid, no lemon? could not come back. mcdonald's filet-o-fish would have better choice."

"Just came back from the restaurant. Had the Sunday lunch special - a big piece of haddock on a mountain of fries with coleslaw and as much tartar sauce as you can squeeze from the bottle for....$7 each! My wife and daughter couldn't finish their fries, and I was so stuffed I couldn't help them They also have halibut and cod, as well as gyro and souvlaki. The patio's now open, and they're licensed to serve alcohol. Apparently they have a $3.49 breakfast too."

"This review is for the Chick-N-Joy in Ajax NOT Pickering. The Ajax location does not come up in the search. My wife fancied a KFC dinner and there was not one close to where we were at the time. Stopped in to the Chick-N-Joy. server was very nice as I was looking over the selections. She could tell I was a new customer as I was unfamiliar with the option. I eventually picked a 4 piece dinner "

"I remember went I used to get excited about going to or getting take out from Swiss Chalet. That was a long time ago. It's been a few months since I'd been to one and the downward slide slowly continues. It actually makes me sad...because it used to be great. It's like watching a great athlete in decline who should retire but won't. Food was average and service flat. Don't expect much anymore."

"Red house is my go-to Thai place when Im home in Pickering. I always get green curry chicken. Lunch item is smaller and comes with 2 spring rolls. Always quick and fresh and the orders are always exactly as ordered. All options are very affordable."
