"We called in for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a brie toastie and a sausage toastie on granary bread which we then shared. Nice sausages, lovely melted brie which was carefully toasted and served with a salad garnish. Mustard from a jar served with a spoon, not a squeeze bottle which was a refreshing change. Service was good, no delays despite being busy, tables were regularly cleaned. Good value for money too. Would recommend unreservedly."

"Another meal out whilst holidaying in Seaford…. This time with my Dad and his wife. We went here for lunch. What a miserable day it was, raining and blustery winds but we walked in here and the welcome was very warm from the staff. It wasn’t very busy but that’s to be expected for a cafe on the seafront when the weather isn’t great…. but it meant we got served quicker. I had a tuna and cheese panini which came with a salad and crisps my Dad had ham, egg and chips, both were very nice and large portions. We then had a hot chocolate with the works… cream and marshmallows… well it would have been rude not too!"

"The service was slow. When food did arrive the order wrong. Halloumi fries (3 for £6! were cold and burger looked like it was leather with a teaspoon of coleslaw on the side. The sausage breakfast muffin was not nice. Portions are smaller and more expensive than our last visit. Won’t be rushing back."

"We booked Sunday lunch here, expecting a roast dinner of the sort we used to be able to get on a very regular basis before lockdowns. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were told that they had stopped doing roasts two weeks ago, although they would...be starting them again in October. The current Sunday menu consisted of predominately burgers, or chips, or of course both not really what I wanted for Sunday lunch. So I opted for a starter and a sweet. The starter I chose was cod goujons with tartare sauce. The tartare sauce, although it came in a wee dish, was anonymous and tasteless, but the batter on the goujons was excellent light, thin and crisp. I then ordered the double chocolate cake with icecream and strawberries. When it arrived it was an extraordinary size easily twice what I was expecting. It was a four-layer chocolate cake, slightly warmed and with half-melted chocolate icing acting more as a sauce. Because the menu listed it as VE I assume the icecream was vegan, although there was nothing about its taste to indicate that. It came with raspberries instead of strawberries, but I was perfectly happy with that. Meanwhile, my husband had fish and chips, which was a hefty helping of which he managed to eat about two-thirds. We will of course be back in October, because we still have wistful memories of their excellent Sunday roasts of yesteryear."
