"Simply unbelievable. From the quality of the individual bites of food, to the seasoning in everything, to the choice of unlimited tea and the fantastic knowledge of the staff to talk to you about it, to the ever so slightly warm scones straight out of the oven, to the attentiveness of everyone to complete your experience. There's a reason this has been voted so highly as one of the best in Wales. In my opinion, this is the best in the entire UK. If you didn't know the quality and eminence of the hotel, you'd raise your eyebrows at the price. But the simple matter is having experienced Afternoon Tea here, you'd pay even more if you had to; simply to experience it again. Definitely go for the High Tea with the savoury pastries, they are simply sublime as is everything here. Just go! :"

"Lovely cafe, with nice boutique produce dotted around. Lovely sandwiches, even gf option. Would have been nice to have more options than just sandwiches/toasties. Cakes were lovely. Kids loved their milkshakes with gliter dust on the marshmallows. Very friendly staff."

"Not exactly about the coffee, but wanted to share an example of what a super place this is..... Spent a lovely couple of days around the Forest of Dean and stopped off at Tintern on the way through. Had a great ice cream from the shop over the road from The Filling Station and unfortunately left my rucksack there something I didn't realise until I was 60 miles up the road. Couldn't find the name of the ice cream shop so I called The Filling Station to see if they could help and they were AMAZING! Vin popped over the road to secure my rucksack, then called back to let me know it was safe and he'd stay late if required to make sure i could get it back. When I arrived back to collect it, he even treated me to a cuppa! Thanks so much, so grateful for your help."

"We expected to see a display of cakes to choose from in a cosy warm inviting cafe, wrong! was not what we all expected dissapointed with the food available.. poor availability on food. So we sneaked next door to eat."

"It seems such a shame that a gastro pub of this quality can't get enough staff to fill all the seats. As a lunch time walk in with plenty of empty tables we were lucky to be accommodated, unlike later potential guests. However, the food was fantastic, delicious belly pork and a pie of the day. Next time I'll book and hope there will be enough un-lock down staff"

"Lovely Tea Room and Cafe on the main st in Monmouth. Had an Italian bread which was a bit like a Pannini but lighter and so well presented. Staff were lovely and the Filter coffee was some of the best I have ever had, no bitterness at all. Will have one of their lovely cakes next time !!"
