"Refuge L'Espace is a very special mountain restaurant on the Tsanfleuron Glacier by the Quille du Diable. Fantastic views to peaks. It is accessible from the ski slopes on top of the Glacier or by walking for 45 minutes from the Glacier 3000 top station along the snow road. On a day when there is a biting wind the warmth of the cabin with about 25 seats is seductive. The atmosphere is very special with food cooked in full view on a wood burning stove. The menu is local , and the dishes though simple are good cold meat and cheese platter, warming soups including the excellent soupe du chalet a delicious barley and vegetable , ravioli , sausages and sauté potatoes and a daily special. Puddings looked great including tarte tatin and gooey chocolate cake. On sunny days the terrace is popular and more than doubles the available seats. Given the small kitchen size and popularity of Refuge L'Espace service will be slower at peak times. The staff do their best. If you don't want to wait, arrive early for lunch or after 1445 for hot chocolate , tea and the cakes. Last descent from the Glacier is 1630 and the sun is disappearing from 1500 onwards. "We have made a welcome break here after a long ski day. Before we could even take a look at the menu, we were already spoiled by the owner with a warm deck and a beautiful chat. the landscape is great, right between the mountains...to the Swiss alps. Before sunset I recommend a trip to the bar. colors at the sky then change beautifully while enjoying a real Belgian caffeine with gluh wine."

"The negative first - in need of reconciliation is the dressing order of the personal - namely no - this is not bad but just something unusual especially for a gourmet restaurant. we did not like that fondue was served in the dining room (both customer request) - we would have liked to dispense with the smell. but as it now prevails for positive and this - so my overall rating is excellent. beautiful interieur - simple and homely. very friendly, family and sympathetic reception and differentiated. good care. no 08/15 dishes with exciting combinations. the food was excellent. the portions are plentiful. beautiful in view. Price/performance is right."
