"From the outside (and inside) this place looks like one of the typical Swiss "Beizen" that normally is good for drinks and heavy simple food. Don't get fooled by the looks, these guys serve one of the most serious steaks this side of the Atlantik. It has the size of a brick, comes on a hot stone with a bit of vegetable and some sauces. The beef is very! good. The owner told us they are selling 4000kg of this a year - For a reason...P.S. the price is a surprice.Better make a reservation."

"We have made a welcome break here after a long ski day. Before we could even take a look at the menu, we were already spoiled by the owner with a warm deck and a beautiful chat. the landscape is great, right between the mountains...to the Swiss alps. Before sunset I recommend a trip to the bar. colors at the sky then change beautifully while enjoying a real Belgian caffeine with gluh wine."

"This is a traditional restaurant run by the lovely and welcoming Von Siebenthal family. The ambiance is very nice and warm. The restaurant is located in a beautiful chalet, with a more sophisticated, yet traditional atmosphere. The kitchen, run by Michel Von Siebenthal, is simply amazing. He proposes a very fresh and creative cuisine, perfectly mixing local ingredients and culinary with a modern, international touch. The result is a perfect balance between tradition and modernity, taste and subtleness. His wife Carole and staff, which incude the daughters, will warmly host you, providing an excellent and friendly service. A genuine address in the region."

"In July we stayed for the weekend at the Bergrestaurant Kubeliap in Saanen near Gstaad Switzerland. This was the third time and it keeps getting better. Our party consisted of 14 people (including 8 kids who loved it! who all ate and slept well. Kubelialp is a traditional simple mountain restaurant/hotel a bit off the beaten path, that has a few double rooms, 4-er rooms, 6-er rooms and one big room for groups with sleeping bags. The restaurant is decorated with typical swiss wood carved paneling and has a lovely old green ceramic tile heating oven in one corner. It is light and airy with great views out of each window. The food has been consistently very good and the wine list is great. The family who run it are friendly and welcoming. Outside there is a large wooden terrace and a very pretty flower garden and it is surrounded by beautiful views, sunny meadows and steep mountains and the sound of distant cow bells. There are lovely hikes starting from there, and they even have their own mountain version of lawn bowling which the kids thought was fantastic. I feel very lucky to have found out about this place, it is a word-of-mouth secret gem that has breathtaking views, great food and where you are made to feel at home right away. Bring your car or hike up. In the winter you can ski to it and I am sure it is very cosy but we haven't tried that yet."

"Communication entre cuisine, serveur, client : NULLE.Notre deuxième soir au restaurant:1h30 d'attente après avoir commandé des pâtes et des rostis et rien sur la table... au bout de 1h15 j'ai demandé si l'on pouvait avoir au moins du pain.... car entre temps on ne nous a rien proposé. Pain jeté durement sur la table avec un peu de beurre,.Au bout de 1h30 nous sommes partis du restaurant avec deux tranches de pain et du beurre : voilà notre repas du soir.Le premier soir, tarte maison avec crème maison: en deux bouchées la tarte était mangée.Très très déçueTrop dommage par rapport à l'hôtel."
