"A very traditional and historic spot that is perfect to try some local specialties. Luckily the portions are not huge but the amount of tasty Appenzeller cheese will easily fill you up. The local boiled sausage with macaroni cheese and fried onions is a full...plate of Appenzellness. The dessert wasn’t nearly as memorable as the accompanying fresh whipped cream."

"We had this place recommended by owner of most gorgeous local liquor shop (where one can even taste) in Hauptgasse. Hornli is excellent- slightly away from the hustle and bustle, housed in picturesque colourfully painted traditional building. Not fancy but super tasty food, using all local produce, so your veal cordon bleu comes stuffed with local cheese and smokey semi cured beef instead of ham. Service was excellent in every respect, this place is an absolute must on your visit!"
