"Incredible night of food. This was a spontenous decision and not one of regret. The calzone was huge, but finished it all due to being so morish. Biscoff dessert was also on point. Will be returning!"

"I thought I would book dinner at the hotel as a surprise for my husband as we got married in this lovely hotel exactly 5 years ago. I emailed ahead of time and told them it was our anniversary and why we I wanted to book a table there. What a let down…the hotel has changed so much since we got married there in 2017. When we first arrived the receptionists were cold and not at all welcoming,we didn’t even get a happy anniversary from any of the staff which I thought was so unthoughtful. I explained I was gluten free and was given a normal menu and was told anything could be made gluten free. Great I thought, the food was horrendous.. I had a pie with different ingredients in to what was on the menu, the salad it came with was a couple of limp lettuce leaves and some potato wedges that were ok and the best thing on the plate! My husband had a steak and it was ok, certainly not worth the amount we were charged for though as the quality was not great. The poor young waitress gave us the wrong menu…I don’t blame her as she was doing the best she could and kept apologising for the mistakes. We were given a complimentary dessert as we had over a 30 min wait for dessert …great, checked the bill and we had been charged for it so again the poor waitress sorted that out on her own. There were two conferences on at the hotel and the staff were clearly overwhelmed. Such a disappointment, over priced poor quality food, lack of staff and just completely down hill. I pity anyone planning an event here as it’s changed so much."

"We found ourselves in Melksham for the night and needed food. We fancied Italian and discovered several venues. We chose ALBA and a good job we did! Very attentive waitress, Carlos very obliging and tailored our meals somewhat. The food was HOT when we received it (pretty quick service) and it tasted good! And there was plenty on the plate. We appreciated the modest prices and enjoyed a very pleasant evening without any rush. Thankyou, Carlos and team, for a very pleasant experience. We live near Brighton so we won't be visiting Alba very often but it is likely to be our oasis when we venture along the M4! Very much looking forward to our next visit likely to be in April! See you then."

"I was recommended Jollys by a taxi driver who had not even been there, but heard about it. I had a warm welcome at this tiny cool vintage cafe and loved it! I had the best cheese and bacon toastie ever. So good I went back at the next day with a friend to try the full english. There was a queue to get in by the time I had finished both days. Worth the wait and clearly very popular."
