"So happy to have a local Malaysian takeaway. Your sister in law recommended the char kuey teow, we’ve been hooked since. The popiah and gado-gado are both our family’s favourite, as well as the hokkien mee. Please bring back the Assam laksa special!"

"Just few days old. It is part of Kinn restaurants Group run by new generation thai entrepreneurs. The 2 story restaurant bar is beautifully fitted out with mixture of wooden and stainless steel. Up stairs level, there is an element of old charm Siam decorations. This is my favourite! The menu is definitely not just an ancient thai cuisine. We picked king fish carpaccio with spicy tangy thai dressing which was just divine, soft shell crabs, duck pancakes and other 4 dishes. The desserts were to die for. We tried the amazing lychee jelly with raspberry sorbet and chocolate cake with caramel fondue. I could eat at Kinn Derm everyday. Perfect food for sharing, a long long lunch or a place to hangout with friends and family."

"This is our go to place for Malaysian cuisine on the south side now. If you feel like some Asian street food, this is the place to be.Their Penang Kuey Teow is one of the best Kuey Teow I've had. You can choose how spicy you want the dish to be, which is really important. I always order mine as medium hot, as I think this gives the noodles enough kick while not being overpoweringly hot to the point that you can't taste any other flavour. One of the best things I love about their kuey teow is the temperature they serve it in. Every time we eat there it's always really hot, as if you are eating off the wok. You can also tell from the fragrance and taste that the food was fried at a hot enough temperature. While everything is served hot, nothing ever tastes overcooked. Bean sprouts are always crispy. Noodles never stick together. They really know how to do their stir-frys! Another dish I also like to order (mostly in the evenings or on a cool day) is their Penang Har Mee, which is prawn noodle soup. The broth is full of flavour and together with the noodles is the ultimate comfort food in winter. If you love prawn, you will enjoy this.Their roti is also something I'd recommend if you like Malaysian curry. However, it may not be filling enough for some as the serving size is not that big. The curry sauce is delicious and if you have some leftover, they go really well with any leftover rice as a second meal lolCounter service. Alfresco dining (street food). The only inconvenience with this place is they only take cash (like a lot of Asian restaurants here). So make sure you have enough cash before you visit."

"Visited Udonya Tokoton whilst in Brisbane for work. The place reminds me of a similar restaurant I came across in the backstreets of Kyoto setup and menu. It can get crowded but I enjoy the wooden japanese setup atmosphere and the simple menus. Servings...are small but priced somewhat accordingly, it's not super cheap or budget and the tastes simple and authentic with no complexity. $4 $6 for a simple bowl of noodles or curry/chicken whatever you want. Good selection of side dishes made quickly and fresh. The unlimited tempura dipping sauce is a plus! Worth a look!"
