"Since this place changed has fish and chips lovely. Today it was horrible. Chips tasted as if they were reheated. The lovely fish we used to have was lovely white flakes. Today's fish was mushy and grey looking. Definitely not the same fish. Totally disgusted. All three of us left most of it."

"We've tried a number of fish and chip shops in Gosport/Fareham area and we keep going back to Mike's. This is by far the best and most reasonably priced chippy around. The staff polite and portion sizes are large."

"I ordered Chilli Lamb Tikka, pashwari naan and onion bhajis. What was good? Plenty of tasty ingredients, in the curry sauce. Good sized portion, too. Bread had a good texture. Free poppadum with mixed onions and a pot of raita. Cheerful, very pleasant, prompt delivery driver. Price was fair. What was not good? Overcooked and bone dry onion bhajis. I managed a quarter of one, from the 3 pieces. Leftovers from the previous night, reheated, perhaps. Filed in bin. Sharp sliver of bone in the lamb see photo. 4cm long, it stabbed the inside of my cheek. Very careless, to leave bone in lamb. Lamb was in different sized pieces, so the small ones were tender, but the double sized ones were tough. There was gristle on two of the larger pieces. Again, that's avoidable, in a better kitchen, it would be trimmed off. Use cheaper cuts, sure, but don't just lob random bits in. The raita was just like plain yoghourt. No coriander, mint, or cucumber. No taste. Not a good experience. I will try somewhere else, next time."

"Loved this pub, went regularly for lunch with friends, but we were all very disappointed on Monday 12th. Waited nearly 30mins for our drinks and eventually went to the bar to collect them. No vegan mayo. Hadn't had it since the previous Friday! Personally I would have gone to either the local wholesaler or even a supermarket to ensure I had a key item in. Our vegan friend was not impressed, as she had been in a few days earlier and they were still out of stock. The dirty ramekins were the next faux Pas! Completely unacceptable. My steak salad was certainly not worth the money. We will vote with our feet and will not return, which is a real shame as this used to be a gem."
