"We booked a lunch for 3 people. We were seated quickly. There was a good menu options available We didn’t have starters, I had the lasagne, garlic bread and side salad, followed by a coffee. My friends had the Thai green curry and the other...the Seabass. My fiends both had desserts, cheesecake and the other sticky toffee pudding and they were both really nice. Overall very good, good value."

"We decided to pop into the Woodman's for a quick pub lunch on our way out shopping. We were able to find a lovely table straight away and our order was taken promptly at the bar as soon as we were ready. New assistant manager...Rachel is lovely and friendly, smiling and chatting to all the guests. Ang was also as friendly as she always is, asking how our Christmas was, and when she bought out our starters and mains she continually checked if there was anything else we needed. The manager Chris popped over to say hello, recognising us as regulars, and checked how our meals were. Everything was cooked beautifully, portion sizes were great value for money, and we received our starters and mains really quickly from when we ordered them, so compliments to the kitchen team! Overall another lovely experience at the Woodman's as usual, can't recommend it enough!"

"Authentic South Indian/Sri Lanka food is at Dosa Village’s heart. The range of dishes is exciting, especially to people used to Birmingham’s mix of more Northern Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi dishes. The bread dishes are dramatic. I highly recommend a crispy dosa. Don’t forget to order a Paratha, I can only describe it as a pliable pancake. Beautiful. The Channa batura, another bread dish, is flaky and crispy. The interior is humble, a reflection of the owner’s personality. I had a long chat with him, a former chef, about food. His passion is reflected in the food."

"I've recently returned to UK, having lived in Asia Dubai for some years. I'm lucky enough to have enjoyed some stunning food along the road. This is a good chip shop. I sometimes come at lunch with a workmate from Perry Barr, he...knows the area and won't go anywhere else (It's as popular during lunchtime amongst the local workforce, as it is in the evening). My parents also moved over to this chippy some years ago. I think it's excellent too, as does my own family, who ask that I drop in here at least once every couple of weeks. Fish batter is light, fluffy as tasty as the cod inside. Lovely chips with an ideal crisp to potato ratio. (if that makes any sense We share a chicken lamb donna, a large fish chips sauces feeds our family of with a few chips to spare its all good! Thats about quid. A fiver a head for an interesting dinner table! Even after coming from Asia, I say thats good value. ALL the staff are warm friendly. Nice to see smiles every time. I'd say the previous reviewer is naturally negative from looking at their other reviews I'd even question if they've reviewed the right chippy. This is our chippy we've really no reason to look else where."
