"Such a let down. The ambience was fabulous, the setting outside was beautiful in the sun, a busker playing acoustic guitar, we honestly thought it couldn't get better as the place was quite busy.<br> &nbsp; We ordered the bacon and eggs benedict for $14.90, cafe latte, hot chocolate and pancakes with caramelised banana and maple syrup $17.90 (charged an extra $5 for a scoop of ice cream and cream). The E&amp;B benny appeared on a very small slice of sourdough with a small piece of bacon and 2 very small poached eggs. The hollandaise was a very peculiar runny frothy milky liquid which was entirely reminiscent of not Hollandaise.. The pancakes...well devo. When paying $18 for pancakes you expect homemade, fluffy cakes of goodness right? Not Tip Top, straight out of a packet from Woolworth's, cheap and nasty. Was guttered, really with such a spectacular location i really had high hopes. The place looked pretty, the service was friendly but clearly this place is about making the... <a class="read-more" href="#">read more</a>"

"Had the pedlars big breakfast. The scrambled eggs were proper scrambled eggs and the Pialligo bacon is old school. The avocado on the plate had awesome flavour and tied the meal together and was light and refreshing. Highly recommended. I will be back again and again."

"The Alley Bar &amp; Grill is located in the Pacific Suites Canberra and many of it's clientele are guests staying at the apartments above, although you don't have to be a hotel guest to dine here.We visited four times during our stay in Canberra (three breakfasts and one dinner).Breakfast is a buffet that includes fruits, yoghurts, cereals, pastries, toast plus bacon, sausages, mushrooms, baked beans, scrambled eggs and hash browns.&nbsp; There is also a coffee machine and juices and water available.&nbsp; The food was of a good standard although during busy times, there was a small delay before empty bain-marie's were replaced.&nbsp; There were only two wait staff rostered on the mornings we visited which wasn't enough during busy periods. We were very happy with the quality of the food we had at dinner and the servings were huge.&nbsp; Unfortunately we found the menu a little poorly written.&nbsp; The Philly Cheese burger made no mention of what type of meat it was (it was beef), and the Butternut Pumpkin Ravioli was just listed as Butternut Pumpkin which meant we had to ask what it was.&nbsp; The people on the table next to us were just as confused so maybe this is something that could be looked at.&nbsp; Once again, for most of the night there was only one waiter on (the other was busy delivering room service orders), so service was quite slow at times.&nbsp; Upon leaving we were disappointed that the free drink and dessert that were supposed to be included as part of our child's kids meal deal had been billed to our account separately.&nbsp; Fortunately this was rectified without issue.I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here if I wasn't a hotel guest, but The Alley is a great addition to the apartments and caters for all ages and tastes adequately."

"This is a place that you could easily visit for a casual meal as I did but could also be great for groups or even a nice romantic dinner (depending on the other patrons). pasta was just what I wanted and the service was prompt and cheerful. All in all it ticked all the boxes."

"To say that Zeus Street does Greek cuisine a disservice is an understatement this place is an embarrassment to the entire concept of food preparation. The dips are bland, the pita bread has all the texture of a McDonald's bun, the squid is soggy...and the lamb shoulder tastes like a protein substitute prepared by the Soviets to feed cosmonauts. The pricing is extortionate, particularly for drinks."

"Great place to eat. One of the few that's offers vegetarian/vegan without a sideways glance. Nice selection of non oz beer, too. The ambiance was friendly while being precessional. Service was delightful and left feeling full. I will look forward to going again."

"This is a great choice for a contemporary Indian meal in Canberra. Situated in Lonsdale Street, Braddon in a hideaway location at the back of a building Darbar shines for it's food.We enjoyed the Chef's Special salmon entree, a truly delicious chicken biryani and the prawns and scallops. The wine list was good and the service acceptable if a little slow."

"The team at The Tipsy Bull ought to be very proud of the bar they've delivered. Friendly service by attentive staff! More gin varieties than I have seen in any single bar and great cocktails - whiskey sour and old fashioned for me"
