"We went to Le Bivouac (in Hotel le Relais Alpin) as it was close to the chalet we rented and came back a second time because we liked the food. We had excellent pave de boeuf (steak) and roast beef as well. To Swiss standards Le Bivouac as an excellent price quality ratio. We liked this much better than other restaurants that were more highly rated."

"The Chalet is in almost every photograph of Gruyeres, so I don't need to tell you how to find it. It's the only restaurant open late (till 11 in summer) in Gruyeres on the weekend, so it's inevitably busy at night. Great fondue. Really solid service. My favorite: the balcony tables overlooking the entire village. Perfect!"
