"We stopped here while driving past Chur and were able to park outside on a cold Sunday night. This is not so easy in Chur. On walking in, the restaurant was crowded and people looked happy. Good sign. Prices are fairly typical for Switzerland, and...the food was very good. Asparagus and strawberry salad was excellent. Pasta is very good. Service excellent. Everything else looked delicious. Worth a stop or a detour if you are passing."

"Wir haben als Gruppe (7 Personen) im Restaurand Sommeraus zu Abend gegessen. Reserviert wurde für uns drinnen und draussen, da das Wetter relativ unbeständig war. WIr haben uns für draussen entschieden, das Ambiente war sehr schön. Die Service-Angestellten waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war (trotzdem, dass das Restaurant sehr voll war) sehr schnell auf dem Tisch und äusserst lecker - Qualität der Speisen stimmt auf jeden Fall. Einziger negativer Punkt: Auf der Karte war der Wein "Paco Garcia - Beautiful Things" angegeben und für 65.50 Fr. angeboten, was sich nach einem sehr guten Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis anhörte. Als dann aber der "Paco Garcia Crianza" geliefert wurde, schmälterte sich die Meinung nach dem guten P-/L-Verhältnis stark. Scheinbar hat es sich um ein Liefer- oder Bestellproblem oder was auch immer gehandelt. Wie auch immer, wir haben den Crianza trotzdem getrunken (schmeckt auch sehr lecker - empfehlenswert!) - der Kellner hat auch da äusserts souverän reagiert, hat sich mehrmals entschuldigt und für den Hinweis bedankt. Zudem wurde uns dafür am Ende der Kaffee offertiert. Im Grossen und Ganzen waren wir sehr zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder."

"One of the things we enjoy doing when we are on holiday is selecting places to eat. Arriving in Chur on a Sunday afternoon in late December, the fabulous Chur Tourist Office had a helpful map of places to eat open on Sunday evening. We've...been to Chur a number of times before so we knew of some of the places, but hadn't come across the Va Bene until this year. It is a few minutes walk away from the centre but on sitting down that evening, the restaurant was very full which we took to be a good sign. We were not disappointed. The welcome was charming and the food was excellent. I would echo all the comments of the previous reviewer. The ambience, presentation of the food, taste, wine list, service were all excellent. We also found the set menu to be of excellent value for the quality of the food we had. We were delighted that we could book a table for the final night of our stay and if anything, the food was even better! A special word of praise for the staff, I wish I had made a note of their names so I could put them in this review, they deserve it! We are already look forward to our next trip to Chur, a return to the Va Bene (at least one) will certainly be part of it."

"We were staying in Chur and were struggling to find a restaurant or bar. We went into the bar connected to the restaurant for some drinks and had such a fantastic welcome from Stefan, we wish we were here another night to eat in the...restaurant. Great fun night, lovely atmosphere with great hosts. We went in as two couples but my two adult kids would also love it. When we return would eat here and drink in the great newly refurbished bar."

"Wir waren gestern Abend, zum jahres Ende, im Basilic essen. Die Begrüsung war sehr freundlich. Wir waren die einzigen Gäste im Restaurant und wurden dadurch auch erstklassig bedient. Wir hatten zwei Mal das 4 Gang Abendmenu. Jeder Gang war der Hammer. Besonders der Crevettencocktail auf Kräutersalat war einsame Spitze. Wirklich Sterneverdächtig. Zum Abschluss des perfekten Abends wurden wir vom Küchenchef begrüsst. Wir bereuen einzig das wir nicht früher dieses Restaurant entdeckt haben. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder."
