"This is a great little restaurant in the tiny village of Monstein. The only other one is in the lovely Ducan hotel. It's top class and casually elegant. We spent a week in the Ducan hotel just down the street. They have a swap arrangement...for evening meals with the Veltliner, a great idea, especially as the hotel restaurant is closed on Wednesdays. The place is traditional, immaculate, welcoming and has a great menu of local fare, beautifully cooked. Prices are reasonable given the eye-watering prices you can see in Davos restaurants nearby. The owner and staff could not be more welcoming or helpful, but it is clear that while friendly and attentive, they take their tasks very seriously indeed. You can eat on a lovely terrace at the side of the restaurant or inside. It was such a warm evening, we decided to eat inside, having done a 25 mile hike in 30 degrees. We were the only diners inside for most of the evening but the staff were equally attentive to us. It's really worth the twenty minute trip form Davos or the three minute walk from the Ducan to try it out. The village itself is just so beautiful, topped off of course with its own brewery. You just can't lose, eh?"

"We ate at the restaurant 3 evenings and were not disappointed with any part of our meals. The food was well cooked, good quality and had some nice subtle twists to keep us on our toes! We ate beef, veal, prawns over the nights we were there all with various accompaniments and also a very good fondue with bread, meat and potatoes. The desserts were sublime and the wine very good, including an excellently priced Chateau Musar 2006. The staff looked after us very well and were very friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you to all who made our stay at the hotel and restaurant a very pleasurable experience. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this restaurant to others!"

"Friday night 7.30pm meant waiting a few minutes at the bar for our table. Gave us a chance to look at the menus and have an aperitif. Table came quicker than expected and order was taken straight away and food was quickly delivered. No exaggeration to say this is the best pizza I have ever eaten and I have eaten a few :-) Its all about the base! Cant fault the attentiveness of the staff despite the place being heaving! We will be coming back as soon as we are back in Davos."

"The view is exceptional. The service is very good and fast. The staff is friendly. The place is very spacious and there are lots of tables. Perfect for huge groups. Hiking road starts right in front of the restaurant. You can go hiking after the meal and burn what you ate :"
