"Don't be put off by the facade, maybe it's a couple more dollars than usual and yes, it is pokey inside however, the food is a triumph. Meat dishes tender and tasty, seafood fresh and plentiful. Such a great surprise. Thanks Peking Restaurant; you've reminded me how good Chinese can be. Great staff too. Yum"

"Arrived for dinner to be pleasantly surprised that kids eat free Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Went to the counter to order was was greated by the most lovely staff member who was courteous, welcoming and professional. The restaurant was nearly full but we received our garlic pizza within 10 minutes of ordering. The kids meals came next and I was very impressed that the staff had taken the initiative not to serve small children food hot enough to burn them. The meals had cooled enough to be safe to eat but still fresh. Both the chicken nuggets and kids fish were fresh and real meat, not processed. This seems to be one of the few venues that provides children with salad not just chips. I was impressed they humoured me when I was convinced my children might eat something healthy with dinner. Our meals came quickly and were impressive. The beef schnitzel was tender and well cooked and the mushroom sauce was much nicer then I've had at other venues recently. My husbands meal was well cooked and he enjoyed it. The Carlyle has really improved over the last 12 months and we will certainly be returning. The value for money was fantastic with dinner for 2 adults and 2 children including drinks being under $65."

"Since I've been here, but always worth a good one. we had Mongolian lamb and bark meat with black bean and chili, that was a little spicy for me, but the sweet was fresh and plentiful to go."

"After a heavy morning at MONA, we debriefed over a wonderful long lunch of fresh local produce that the chef magically turned into some of the best dishes I have tasted. We took the waiters advice, shared 4 entrees and a desert. We also chose the local vineyards Moorilla sparkling rose. The staff were so friendly and made us feel very welcome."

"Party of 5 just had a 2 course lunch. Asked the staff what is the beef dish and she answered some sort of stew . I ordered (clearly) this with chips and salad and paid. Came with hard cooked carrots and beans, full of rice...and not much meat. No chips or salad as we don 't do that Ice cream was miniscule (2 small serves) with a bit of chocolate and some sort of gritty sugar lolly crystals sprinkled. 1st time in 82 years I have never finished my ice cream dessert. My friends did not finished their own meals with similar complaints about their food ranging from undercooked to burnt One had parma that was delivered in a half serve. The only bright side was the wonderful waitress Jess who was full of genuine apologies. The poor girl put on a very brave face and handled us in a most professional manner. She deserves more support from the supposed chefs who must make her endeavors seem hopeless. The consensus of us all was Never ever again"

"We were delighted to visit. we have heard so great critikens of many people. also reviews that gave some meals were there with some of the best restaurants in the south. so we wanted to try. Unfortunately, it was so cold on 2 of the meal times that both did not eat it and just eat around it. we have addressed this with the waiting staff who was friendly and friendly and they were very quick to apologize. we asked them to let the cook know, as I am confident that he would not allow it out of the kitchen when he saw how visibly dry it was on both plates. from there we haven't heard of it anymore. also our complaining and half eaten teller discussed or discounted at the time of payment. the rest of the meal was ok. no one teller was done. all 8 plates returned to the kitchen, with lots of food left on them. Hard night? Maybe, but all the dishes were under average. ground for 2 stars. we saw that they did not charge a cake fee (which is rare nowadays) the staff of the floor were all very friendly."
