"This is our favourite place for our girls lunch. We discovered Baxter Tavern because its roughly midway between my home and that of the other ladies who live in Rosebud, Nyora and Narre Warren. We have been to Baxter Tavern several times and would highly recommend it, that's why we have kept returning a few times a year for the last 8 or so years.Love the atmosphere, everyone is so friendly, its sort of like the old fashioned pub. They have lots of open fires blazing away in the winter to keep everyone snuggly and warm while eating and a separate gaming area room where they supply free tea and coffee for those playing the pokies.The food is absolutely delicious, I have always enjoyed their food and never had need to complain. They do have large servings, often striving to get through it all and never left there hungry. Great variety of choices, they have different specials on different days.You select your own table, go to the counter to order and pay, tell then your table number from a stand at the table you have chosen and they bring your meal when ready. Service is usually reasonably fast and they clear the table quickly when you're finished leaving you to chat and take your time, no rush to get you leaving as they have plenty of tables throughout 2 areas.Not sure what it would like on say a Saturday night though as we've only been for lunch during the day, I assume pretty packed though as I'd expect it would be quite busy.Plenty of car parking, easy access and departure as its on the corner of Baxter-Tooradin Rd and Fultons Rd (which is the extension of McClelland Dr Frankston) and they have driveways on both roads.They also have a drive through bottle shop and accommodation but I've never used either of these services."

"Had the overpriced Lamb gyros. More of the trendy disconstucted crap. The lamb cold and small serves of everything that would normally be wrapped up and warm, all laid out on a wooden chopboard for you to eat. Everything went cold in 5 seconds. At $28 a plate, will not be going back. The mocktail, overpriced too. The service good. But the food ?? If you want lamb, go next door to cafe greco, the greeks know how to do lamb really well, mine was dry and cold. Thank god for some sauce and dip on the "chop board"....some of the young staff..have no idea...."
