"The very expensive Sushi mix was apparently worth the money, though my lady got stomach issues the morning after. Besides, speculating on water (which tasted tab water) , sold for 9 CHF per bottle, is an unexpected lack of style."

"The grotto is nice and cosy, not very central but close to the center and easily accessible by public transport. we have been kindly served and have fed very well at very reasonable price and enjoyed an excellent tessiner merlot. we will definitely take the grotto grillo back into account at our next Lugano visit. by the way: there is even an extra dining room for smokers."

"We were a group of 8 local business women. we were the second table to come to the restaurant and leave one of the last, as an extraordinarily long wait until main courses arrive. starter (three different types of betare) were really good,...and arrived immediately, but our main thing came all separated, with long gaps in between, so that we were not all in a position to eat at the same time. the risottos that last arrived were tepid, with a skin formation. not pleasant. a dame ordered braided bark that was inevitable hard. it was taken away by the manager with a bad gnade. then the exact same plate was returned 20 minutes later after a magic in the microwave and without comment. not exactly what you expect when you pay 38ChF for a court. with water at 12.50ChF and the cheapest prosecco that they could find for us at 60chf “, we were sadly disappointed by the quality/price ratio. we had decided to have a stylish, tasty and friendly lunch, but it was pampered by poor management and poor food."

"Has great potential, spacious restaurant and outside seared area in good weather, close to the lake, very busy, I went there with friends for their Apero night that starts around this time going forward into the Summer months, we waited over an hour to be...served, kept asking the waiters if we could order they said they would come to our table but didn 't, there were not enough staff to cover the tables and other guests got served before us who arrived after us, I felt this was quite rude and bad service, will not be going there again."

"The restaurant is situated in an idyllic location at the edge of the forest. The restaurant itself is a little bit dark but this is more than equalised by the friendliness of the hosts. The food, Capretto con Polenta, was delicious and the wine recommended...by the owner was very tasty and matched the dish perfectly. As a dessert we had one of the most delicious Torta della Nonna I have ever had. I can only recommend this typical grotto ticinese."

"Found it on the site, short walk from our hotel and couldn't have been better. Sort of communal seating and almost all locals. We were made to feel right at home. Short menu on a black board but our server was happy to explain what...each item was. Excellent wine choices and great dessert. Even made new friends who were sitting next to us. Reservations, a must."
