"We were staying in Montreal over Easter with our two teenage daughters and wanted to relive the wonderful sugar shack experience we had enjoyed the year before in the Bromont area. We booked traditional sugar shack dinner at Handfield as it wasn't too far. We had lots of trouble finding it with our nav system, ending up on the wrong side of the river but with our iPhone located it and caught a cute local ferry to the other side. It was pouring rain, unfortunately, but there was a small covered place to wait for the tractor to take us to the lodge from the parking lot. We waited a long time after being seated to be served. The food was merely ok. We were a little disappointed, to be honest, as it was heavy on grease and low on flavour (nothing like the one we had at a different cabane a sucre the year before) but the accordion player gave the meal fun ambiance."
